Contrary to most people's opinion on here, I think he would be a big loss. Ok he hasn't blown the lights out for us, but he has been a big physical presence in the middle of the park for a number of years. We need these seasoned professionals to help us take our time bringing on the large number of young forwards in the squad this year.
I don't think his contract is ridiculously high in the current market.
Flanagan is usually quite vocal in the media, this time he's said nothing so it looks like he's been side-swiped by this one the same as we have, which means probably no replacement lined up.
Given this was already our weak spot, and whether you like him or not, Molo has been fairly consistent compared to our other middles, this is a real setback for us.
I'm usually pretty optimistic but this one has knocked me a bit. I'm still hoping they can help him work through his issues and get back on the training field, but not looking good.

I hope so its amazing how drama follows the dragons, and these dramas totally derail our season, starting with Tallis sitting out the season, Debelin's saga destroying the 2019 year after a promising end to 2018,Ben Hunt effectively derailing the 2023 and 2024 seasons and Amone's hammer incident also contributing to issues with the 2024 squad and results.

There is something wrong with the culture of the dragons and it goes way beyond the coach!, I don't know how many ex players race out the door citing a toxic culture, we have had 2 captains in Hunt and McIness leave, Frizzell hated the joint rushing to a Team that had even less success, the Morris twins have never stepped back into the club, Lomax dropped $200K a season for 2 years to get out and now Molo there has to be a root cause!

What surprises me is there was no inkling of this, not a peep plus since it’s come out no rumours of what has caused it. The club has given him mental health leave and if that’s the case I wish him all the best if it’s a club/coach issue then I think the fans deserve to know what that issue is and what’s been done to resolve it.

I have been really disappointed by Francis Molo , I agree with many who have stated he is inconsistent, but least he has had the capability to be the alpha. If there were heaps of props on the market I’d happily say bye, but as it is lodge has been the closest we have found recently, and I Don’t want him. So lest say if he is adamant to leave, play this year like Lomax did last year and then leave if you want. otherwise he sits out. And we hope we can get thru the next 12 months and use the cash in a hopeful way. With luck the youngsters pay off early or at least arent hurt by stepping up ealry

My take on the Molo situation is that he has some sort of offer from the dolphins to go back home (brisbane), Kristian Woolf is the head coach there who coached him for a few years at Townsville Blackhawks and also Ben Woolf has gone there as well to help him (our assistant coach) so he has probably been in his ear. It shocks me as he didnt set the world on fire but has been pretty consistent and reliable. If i recall correctly i watched a press conference or interview with flanno last year where he said words to the effect of Frank was the player that most suprised him in pre-season last year and had a great attitude and buy-in. Wonder whats changed.

Geez there's been a few years between Tallis and all the recent shit. Why not throw in the KFC incident for good measure? No doubt the culture has been rotten for a few years but it happens to all clubs, we're not alone in this. That's rugby league. I'm just thankful Flanagan has had enough of it and is actively seeking to change the culture.

Actually I think what we're starting to see are the results of having the toxic culture slowly flushed out of our system by Flanno. For me at the moment, any player who wants to leave should get their wishes and be replaced with someone who wants to be part of what Flanno is building.
Nothing wrong with our current culture and its only going to get better over the next few years.

Thanks for your support Dragsters. It is the off season syndrome with me I guess.

If Molo wants out and he is released with 2 years left on his contract, it could have a detrimental effect on some other players who might want out as well. We don't know the real reason(s) why he hasn't been training so if there is a genuine mental problem and he wants out it might be the best thing for the club to let him go.

We have GOT to get an experienced middle forward if Molo goes. I can see Blake Lawrie playing a lot of games in first grade this year.

It will be very interesting to see what eventuates.
