Yeah, thanks for posting firstly.

Secondly, it seems to be an interaction, that is to say, a single event of some description and perhaps we can assume whatever was said was perceived to be exceptionally unkind and unwarranted by Molo.

So I think he’s upped the ante and wants the staffer sacked which the club is refusing to do nor will it release Molo, recognising his talent.

So if it’s a matter of staffer v Molo, the club has to weigh up the relative value of each to the project ahead.

It could be that the staffer was in the wrong and we know our players are quite a sensitive lot underneath. If level 5 kindness is expected in your workplace, NRL players expect a level 7. Just how they are.

I note the union has been dragged in, so he’s kind of going more public with it which means he’s confident about his case whatever it is.
The union being dragged in has no relevance to wether he is right or wrong

So he doesn't get along with someone in the workplace? That's it? And bcs of that he is going to throw his team mates, their families, the club and its supporters under the bus? And he waits until the worst possible time to do it?

He must have grown up in a sheltered little world.
These footy players have their clubs by the balls. If you are a decent player, and don’t like where you are, you can break your contract and be picked up by another club. Not enough talent going around.

You are saying he is confident in his claim ie thinks he is right
The union would come in either way
They are there to advise either way
You could well be right, but I think he would invite the union in himself wouldn’t he or do they have a standing invitation in these matters?

Would the club invite the union in? I don’t think so, but happy to be corrected.

Yes, but conversely he may be entirely correct in the action he has taken. They are employees / contractors and they have the same workplace and human rights as others.

As a workplace you always ask a person to bring a representative when you are having a conversation that could determine their work future

There would be a section on dispute resolution in the EBA

The more material we get, the more in the middle I’m heading.

There’s never a dull moment at SGI. I’m not making fun of the situation at all, but your club never sleeps.

Cheers.

The club seems firm on him.

Astonishing impasse as they go.

I hear you mate. He may be entirely correct. As an example, I work in a company that, if I was to not turn up to work for 10 days, regardless of the reason why, I wouldn’t be working at that company anymore. And no other company would put their hand up to take me. Why? Because my skills aren’t in high demand like a regular first grader.

I suggested that if he’s brought the union in, then he’s willing to let more people in on the issue. So he’s confident about the justice of his claim.
Bringing in the union just turns up the heat. It says nothing in support of the justice of his claims or the truth of his assertions.

That aside, are we all starting to see how important it is that the people who are brought into the club have no issues in their background? Why must every mole hill be blown up into a mountain? With his background, we did him a favor by taking him on, and here now are our thanks.

I was in favor of getting Lodge before. No longer. I have changed my mind about troubled types. I no longer want anyone with any kinds of problems anywhere near the team.

Well it's very much a bucket-load of conjecture at this point. Whatever it is, it's not something that Molo wants made public and it doesn't sound like the club wants it made public either. Wouldn't hold your breath waiting to hear anything of significance. Presume the club will be on the lookout for a replacement, but won't release Molo until they find someone suitable.

Mmm, I said he was confident in the justice of it, not whether or not it was right because I don’t know.

But @St Tangles cautioned it could be more procedural than ambition.

His manager is there too, he wants a release. He wants to pull the trigger over it, so it’s pretty heady stuff, if the article is right.

I’m really glad none of us are remotely concerned about the journalistic click bait rubbish about the spoon and Lomax etc. it’s gets so boring all of that crap.

That is usually how Flanno does things. But he may still want to keep that slot open.

And it is three weeks to the charity shield. Any other clubs having last-minute, pre-season turmoil? No? Just us?

You are confident that he is sincere. This reflects well on you.
Thanks.

As more information has come to light ( if we can believe the press, which is big ask I know), it seems to me that he is making a stand.

The club is adament it won’t release him at the moment anyway.

I can wholly understand their position too.

So he’s in a bit of a corner.

I’m not sure what his contract says about penalties for not playing.

I’ve only seen one player contract and that was for ESL. I recall there was a “best effort” provision. Nice and loose.
I was probably more shocked at the amount, about x3 plus expenses on NRL for that guy anyway. But i understand that player wanted the experience of living overseas as much as the money.

Money is a big factor, but players are not always motivated by it. If they were, we might have a much more even distribution of marquee.

Court is a last resort for obvious reasons.

If I was in the clubs position, and I was confident with the staffers conduct, I’d only be releasing him if I could secure a player of equal or better quality at a similar amount. But so too, I’d have to get the confidence of the playing group.

We all remember it reached defcon 4 with JDB and the prospect of a lightning strike over the stand down business.

I think that was the closest any NRL side has come to throwing the whole comp into disarray.

Tricky business. It will be resolved, but I’m not sure how.

Having a new manager gives the impression that it is an orchestrated move in order to negotiate a new contract, or to otherwise show his worth.
But the tone of that article suggests that Frank, at least, is sincere in his action. I’m not suggesting he is right or wrong because I don’t know anything about it.
It is normal for an employee to have a representative with them in these types of meetings, which can be a union official but doesn’t have to be.

It could become a big issue if the playing group takes sides in this dispute.

That’s why it’s a bit of a strange one, because as far as everyone knows, for the first time in ages, your club is unified.

A lot of the destabilising forces have been shown the door.

And all of the fresh faces seem ready and willing to give it a go.

We’ve been approaching Galvin for an extension and he is giving us this rubbish about him “wanting to focus” on his game. Let his “manager sought it out”

Im pretty much waiting for him and a photo of Gus Gould and Ciraldo to be leaked.

He’s on 600, we’ve got two years and he’s goneski. Satan ( Moses) is managing him.

Our only hope is for Luai to suck him in for longer if the coaching staff don’t break his other knee.
Yeah I just read that Molo is now saying he took issue with an interaction with a staff member at the Dragons. Well why didn't he tell someone last year when it happened and wait until now.

It's just managers playing games it seems. It feels like they let Lomax and Hunt go and now other people are getting ideas they can try it too.

I think Luia will lift your morale at the club. Id say Galvin is doing a wait and see thing and wont commit to an extension till he sees how it pans out at the club and also wants to keep his options open.

Reports are that hes been training by himself.

So..... looks like hes ok mentally to play football just not with us
Oh, ok that's interesting. If you have mental health problems you are not motivated and do not function normally - everything is a struggle. You're not exactly going to have the drive to train and work out independently.

Oh dear, has Mr Molo seen Lomax and Hunt released and thought if they can do it then so can I?
