A cutting comment, in jest or not, can be taken in different ways, depending on who’s says it, where and in front of whom.

A good friend of mine will always be forgiven for such a comment. They get the benefit of the doubt, at most I’m short term pissed off.

somebody I dislike will be despised for the same, will be potentially bad mouthed, will be entered on the nasty list…

if it’s a light hearted jest from the coaching staff and he has reacted this way, then there is something more under it all for sure. We don’t know if it’s true inter personnel issues, if the club has been unfair in the treatment of him, or it’s a desire to move, get more money or whatever, but it’s is absolutely not a reason to be absent for 2 weeks, or a reason to change jobs In itself.
It depends really on how it was handled. He can set his boundaries and if someone has overstepped them they should apologise and not do it again. He is not meant to feel humiliated at work or stressed.

If they have addressed it correctly and he is still saying he wants out then he is a dick

On the other hand, if they have swept it under the carpet or minimised how it affected him, then I can understand why he would want to leave.

I am playing devil's advocate here

It is absolutely not good for us and the worst timing.

Again, though he should have bought this up immediately.

So I gave one point each to Molo and the Club as its not certain how they addressed his issues, so I give them both the benefit of the doubt

But because he took so long to bring it up and did so at the worst possible time for the club, then I have deducted his point.

End scores is Club - 1, Molo - 0.

So pull you head in mate and get over it or get out.

A staffer at the Dogs made the player wrestle 35 guys and the poor fella suffered mental illness so it is a very difficult issue now all teams must face especially if this kid takes the club to court and wins a significant payment. I thought Francis may have copped the same treatment when they mentioned a fall out with a staffer. But seriously to act like this over words that were said is way overboard. Surely this can be sorted out behind closed doors. What the staffer said may have hurt the guy but if the staffer apologises for what was done and takes accountability you would think that is enough to fix things and not destabilise a club and create all this terrible press. If the staffer cannot apologise and smooth things with Molo then maybe the press should be naming and shaming him rather than Molo. Dragons should also stand the staffer down for what he has caused if he cannot sort it out. That should also put Molo at ease that they don;t except their staff to behave that way and put them in line.

The Management at Saints is really poor to have something like this boil over. It should have been dealt with asap.
Mgt should act in a more professional manner. Especially given the back story here.

We did that with the right game, right venue policy

it was a disaster

Its really simple, if we are a good team who are at LEAST entertaining to watch, fans will go. If we actually have semi decent time slots for home games with a schedule that makes sense (ie Kogarah opponents are Dogs, Rabbits, Sharks, Parra, Tigers) the rest go to the Gong.

Its not hard

Our social media is the thing that needs the most amount of work. We need more of the Titans rnd 1 game, behind the scenes stuff, that was great, And they only did it once
We also need games at a decent time for those who have to travel. And let's face it, the Dragons fan base is spread right along the east coast of Australia and more. Last year they had games on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons. When you live a fair distance from the grounds and have work Monday to Friday then you can't go to those games. I think we had one or maybe 2 Saturday games. Even Friday is hard but at least you could take a flexi day for that and stay down there. Wollongong twisty roads late at night you don't want to be heading back up that mountain to go to work the next day late at night.

Thats 10 home games - much better.

Only 1 sunday slot though and thats in Brisbane

If kids sport are on early enough we can even make the 3pm game in Wollongong

Round one should see some good crowds

Much better this year, however as others have said, we sold out home games last season and lost every single one.
We need to be a better team, wholly.
If the fans stand up, the team has to

It wasn't even the fact that we lost them, obviously winning them would have been nice but it was the way they lost them.
If they lost but fought their asses off and did everything they could to win but just fell short against a better side, you could accept that. It would hurt but at least you could still be proud of them.

There was nothing to be proud of in those losses. Being at the games, I certainly left having no interest to go to another one.

Come on, if you can't get more than 10,000 to your home ground, something is not right.
