No ... the peptides were in 2011 .. the 2016 grand final winning team had about 4-5 blokes if that from 2011.
There was nothing in the 2016 Grand Final winning team to suggest peptides etc had any influence.

Dubious is people trying to link 2016 to the injections.
The dubious part about 2016 is that they were potentially over the cap. Over in 2013-15, over in 2017, but supposedly not over the cap in 2016... Not saying its impossible they weren't over the cap, but it is a fair coincidence they won the comp the only year they were compliant over a 5 year period

Yep ... Over the cap in 2015 and 2017 .. very convenient with respect to 2016.
that part is potentially the dubious part i agree.
Potentially wages/contracts from 2016 were shifted into 2015/2017 so technically they could very well have been compliant in 2016 - some creativity in the balance sheet type activity with front ending/back ending deals.

Similarly the Gaz deal in 2010 was creative in our favour in keeping us cap compliant that year.

And yet the Storm team that they beat in the 2016 GF had more superstars than the Sharkies. If the Sharkies squad was over the cap, how much over were the Storm.?.....not that I would ever defend the Sharkies

What sort of player do we get under those conditions? A Sulky player is a shadow of hi contract value player.
That's where the coach comes in. A lot's been said about Flanagan being a good man-manager. Well this is an opportunity for him to prove that's correct. Apparently Molo has no issue with Flanagan so once the HR process is complete it's up to him to find a way to get the player motivated and back to his best. I'm sure he won't want to let his teammates down when he's out there on the field with them. Top coaches have ways of achieving great things with players mindsets, so let's see what he's got in his locker.

Failing that, a reminder to Molo that if he plays poorly for us in 2025 then his earnings for the last few years of his playing career will be affected massively should another club come in for him for 2026 and beyond. Could be the difference of half a million over a three year deal if he plays poorly vs if he plays well. That's enough to stop most people sulking.
