If we are looking at a player to keep going with us beyond 2026 then there a few middles

Wouldn’t be surprised though if we are making a play for big Pappa who is only 18months younger than JDB but what we need for 2026

Josh Papalli
Fletcher Baker
Adam Elliot
Bunty Afoa
Kobe Hetherington
Saluka Fafita
Valeepu
Greig

Papalii at his peak, throw the kitchen sink at. By next year, at 34, will he give us what we want? Maybe, kind of, for one year. But the big money has to be aimed at Haas for the following year. I know most people don't think he'll come but surely we have to give it everything we've got.

Now look, I know this might come as strange, but could jdb realistically backflip? like say we get a massive win this weekend right, like a good win and that gives him a confidence boost, could he backflip and sign the 1 year deal that the dragons offered him? or even negotiate to stay with a club option for 2027

Who can we add to our team? like forwards wise, because I know there is talk about Payne haas joining but lets be real he wants to stay in brisbane he said that himself, and I cant see him joining us. so what other forwards are on the market for 2026

so where i am lost and im sure everyone else, it might sound stupid, but how couldnt we offer him even a year? not even a year? we dont spend much money, yes we have gutho, val, leilua but like how? we have the least amount of salary cap usage in the league so how can we not even give him a low ball?

like that is terrible, the guy bleeds for our club he puts in day in day out straight up hes best efforts and yet still cannot get a contract? Yes there is definitely a bit of controversy related to hes past but that doesn't change the fact that he's been our best player every single week, hes put his heart, his soul and everything into this club!!! Yes the club did stick by him years ago, but he also stuck by us through many years in the bottom 8, no matter the result he always pushed for better results. I will say this, I am not 1 bit disappointed in De Belin, he didn't have a choice, he didn't have a contract and he didn't get the support from the club he deserved. I am glad he has found a club, because the sad reality is, he wont have media coverage after he retires, because of the past, I am just happy to say im proud of him for sticking through the tough time, but Flanno this is a real fckn wake up call mate! we got you to fix the club not destroy it

Our shit Board can't stand the idea if JDB surpassing Ben Hornby to become the most capped player in the joint venture history. Fxcking useless bunch of cxnts. He is the only forward our opposition fear.

Yeah absolutely positively nothing to do with the coach hey?

He is just powerless and at the mercy of the BOD.

Not sure why we even bother with a coach when everything from the insipid on field performances, poor team selections and poor player relationship management all falls on the BOD anyway.

True to a degree. On the other hand, other than winning 1 semi in 2018, we have been dog poo since 2012 under a few different coaches. There is something else going on at this club besides the players on the field and the coach.

Is everyone receiving advertising on this forum its getting worse it is actually now covering up the pages each time you login so frustrating.

Yes. It's so fecking annoying. Often it covers the whole page and it's hard to navigate past. It's bloody TEMU adds, a website I will never ever buy anything from.
Just another annoying thing to contend with about the Dragons. As if we needed another thing.

Was that a response to my post? I wouldn't know as you didn't quote the post, which is confusing.

If so I'd say yes the management of the club plays a part in this certainly, however the overwhelming consensus by most members when Flanagan was appointed, was that he had the experience and the knowhow to circumvent the useless BOD/management as Bennett did when he was coach.
Considering this, that leaves us with two possibilities from here which are:

A) Flanagan isn't as effective at taking control away from the BOD as everyone first thought which he should be held accountable for
Or
B) Flanagan does have that capability, is more responsible for what is happening at the club over the past two years and people are simply placing blame where it isn't warranted at the BOD.

Please take your pick.
