The coach
This ......... Been saying this for years >>>>>>>>>>>> THE BOYS CLUB ...............The Board.... all starts and stops with them... 13 years of mediocrity....
100% Correct . I Think many on here have also been stating the same thing......This ......... Been saying this for years >>>>>>>>>>>> THE BOYS CLUB ...............
Well spoken my friend, all that you have said is quite accurate .Just to add to that message I sent, there is no doubt that Kyle needs to improve I get where people are coming from, but it seems like we are all blaming him for a job that he was clearly put on the spot to play, hes not a halfback we can all agree on that, but for people to go out of their way to simply put the blame on a young 26yr old bloke thats playing a different kicking role is completely unfair, now people are entitled to there own opinions I get that, but Kyle has probably been one of our better players when he had the ball in hes hands, hes a running player who can grubber kick, hes like jarome luai but just a little less talented, people bagged Luia when he went to halfback because he wasnt playing the best. Thats simply because he's not a halfback, just like Kyle, so I think we actually need to get around Kyle instead of bag him, because bagging a player whos taking the reins and being the on field kicking leader isnt necessarily going to help him get any better, but if you credit him and actually back him just for the end of the year then you might actually see that hes getting better each week he puts those boots on. I respect kyle, I think hes been given way to much rubbish. yes we know hes not a halfback, yes we know hes struggling, yes we know hes kicking isn't as good as other halfbacks, but hes putting hes heart into the jersey, everytime he scores points at the logo on the jersey, I think he deserves some sort of respect for stepping into a role that takes a whole nother level. I really hope to see him grow as a player, because hes got a heart, hes got a passion for the game he plays, and he plays with pride, just give him some time, and if the experiment fails, it fails. Just put trust into him, he need support, hes a 26 year old who has feelings as well as everyone. hoping he has a cracker of a game this week because hes trying hes heart out.
Way way longer than 13yearsThe Board.... all starts and stops with them... 13 years of mediocrity....
Way way longer than 13years
Kyle situation is not good....Should have been dropped....again nepotism....( Ilias and Glover both apparently playing well )Well spoken my friend, all that you have said is quite accurate .
Indeed it is easy to create a fall guy and unfortunately Kyle has been one individual whom has had a great deal of blame placed upon his shoulders .
There are a number of other characters in our squad who are not putting in half the effort that young Kyle has , it is after all a ‘ team effort ‘ that will get the two competition points , not a one man band .
Yes, a lot of forum members thought he could have the same influence over the board as Bennett did, but obviously he can’t. But still, Flanagan didn’t give himself the job, the board did. So for me, this is still mostly the boards fault. We have been rubbish now for 14 or so seasons. The coaches and players have all changed, but the board pretty much remains the same. Was that a response to my post? I wouldn't know as you didn't quote the post, which is confusing.
If so I'd say yes the management of the club plays a part in this certainly, however the overwhelming consensus by most members when Flanagan was appointed, was that he had the experience and the knowhow to circumvent the useless BOD/management as Bennett did when he was coach.
Considering this, that leaves us with two possibilities from here which are:
A) Flanagan isn't as effective at taking control away from the BOD as everyone first thought which he should be held accountable for
Or
B) Flanagan does have that capability, is more responsible for what is happening at the club over the past two years and people are simply placing blame where it isn't warranted at the BOD.
Please take your pick.
A young talented player who once was the target of many clubsCobbo's headspace is not good at the moment possm and he is showing signs of being depressed and it's been reported that he could give league away. We don't want a player who might get really upset if he is told off for instance and say "I want to go home".
We want a player who will give it his all no matter whar the circumstances and tough it out. We already have enough of the sooks at the club.
Forget about Cobbo. We can't reach agreement with him and his manager on terms and conditions anyway.
We could secure Cobbo if we dangled the fullback job in his face. He as always wanted to play fullback.Hunt, Lomax and Molo were fun to deal with
Same with Sullivan and Amone and Rava
Sloan still could be that player in a good team and or a season or two from now
Its been a ride hasnt it !!!! Some tough indvs to work with which is sad because we seem to have great collection of serious emerging players and some great experienced ones helping that journey
Cobbo i think is worth the risk.........but only at what we see as value vs a few other options. His value if he doesnt turn the corner we will be stuck with in the cap - which could really hurt
2 years with a MO ?
Yes, we do have some good young forwards coming through but, we need a few good experienced forwards to bring them on.If he got two years at Parra then good luck to him, no way he was going to get that from us at his age and with so many quality juniors coming through. Probably our best defender but doesn't give us the go forward we need and will only get slower from here.
Fox tonight reporting Dragons have withdrawn their offer for CobboRandom rumour from another website.
Cobbo to sign with the Dragons for 18 months, prior to 30 June.
Then off to the Perth Bears for 2027.
....and if Glover was good, wouldn't we be trying him in first grade?Given that Parra have done a 2 year deal for a 35yr old next March in JDB
Given that Glover and Ilias are being talked up massively...............in the media..............why havent Glover and Ilias been picked up as yet by other clubs ?
Ilias signed on for 2026 so a little trickier to dislodge by another club but Glover if that good would have been swooped up right ? already?
