I tip Kyle to 14 with Atkinson and LKT to fight it out for 6. If we don't buy a 7, then Reed to be promoted to first grade.

Watsford says we need a marquee half back- therefore ruling out Atkinson who's already signed, we're told, to play half from being our long-term half-back. Watsford could be right- as I've already posted, no one has seen Atkinson play a full game recently to know if he is or isn't elite at 7.

Then there's Douehi- does he fit the definition of a marquee half-back? Again, I've not seen him play in any one position often enough to know. However, he has the long kicking game neither LKT or KF possess and I would be inclined to sign him as a 7 and if that doesn't work out, a ball playing 13.

Every time I've watched him play, he's been a 5/8, a centre or a fullback, so I'm not sure why anyone reckons he'd make a decent halfback. I think he's worth pursuing, but not as a halfback.

We were (and still are) after a marquee halfback.. but landing one is a very difficult thing to do as many clubs are finding.

Similar to the marquee prop.. been after one since we missed AFB and RCG and Stefano and god knows who else.. even left ourselves short from our Top30 this year incase one came on the market.. but here we are still looking.

It's not easy.. lets hope we can pull a few rabbits out of a hat before 2026.. even if its not a marquee, just some names with potential... or names that can help us become a more reliable sort of mid-table team.. we need to be fielding a better roster to compete fairly in this competition.

Must have been a very long time ago.I can only remember him playing fullback for Souths.

Doueihi is being looked at as a utility/ lock not a half. When Watsford said we are in the market for a marquee half it meant if one were to come off contract/ available we would be interested. Currently there is none. Just like how we have been in the market for a marquee front rower but none have become available. Think it’s just his way to show the supporters that he knows that halves as well as front row is a position of weakness and he wants to improve it
