I feel that a halves pairing of Daniel Atkinson and Sandon Smith can get Saints a premiership or close to it. Both really good halves on the outer that have impressed me in their few games in the NRL. I remember in Atko's first few games he played against the Broncos with Brailey as his half (both Hynes and Trindall were out) and they absolutely smashed the Broncos which he played a huge role in. With Sandon Smith he played in the semi against the Sharks when Manu, Teddy, Suallii were off due to injury in that game so the Chooks were low on troops and Sandon stepped up and beat a full-strength Sharks in a Semi. He scored a neat try to seal the game. I feel both these guys are big game players and can rise to the occasion. I can see Sandon fitting in at 7 and Atko at 6. I would be wrapped if they can get Sandon on the books. Come on Saints you can do it.

Hey all. Check this out. If storm somehow get tino. lets say on 900k a year, they will need to offload nelson. Thats where this comes into play. If nelson leaves the storm in 2027 and joins the red V he will have just turned 31. hes currently 29 turning 30 in feb next year. Would this be a pickup for us? maybe for a year or 2? almost like tom eisenhuth? He would be great in the pack alongside LPT. it would be awesome to have him in the team no?

I agree mate. How good would it be if could land Smith. Would really put some polish on what’s looking to be a formidable young team in the next few years. Hopefully Ando can get it done but he’s going to have plenty of options.

Saw this morning Savala is on 85k.. DCE 1mill.. jesus... obv Savala needs a big upgrade.

DCE on $1million big bucks ? Perhaps his new teammates have taken a pay cut just so Evans can play with the tri-colours - most similar to his ex - teammates at the Sea Eagles , no doubt about it - the bloke certainly has form .

Im curious re Chevy and if we can help Ilias to another club?

Fullback to Half we have seen a fair few transition and do it very well. He does look like he could play 5/8 well. Very natural stepper, hard line runner for his build and jack out of the box creative. Bit of a Tedesco look at same age they way he moves and jinks to gain extra metres for a fast play of the ball.

It sounded like he was more keen than less keen when on the Podcast.........he did dance a little around talking about Chevy though.

Chevy would have plenty of time to craft his game at 5/8 in ressies in 2026 and be ready when really needed and or injuries strike FG. .......Especially given Reed coming through more so 2027 and not many options for 2026/27 on the market?

just turned 20yrs old last month

I havent seen a 19yr old (as at 2024 high lights below) that looks more like Teddy at same age.

Especially how he is used one off the ruck for quick play of the balls........watch last 45 seconds as per below. His low centre of gravity (182cm / 88kg) really hits those angled lines in behind the ruck

Can we see some of his defensive highlights also ????
What I've seen of Cody this year, would be equal to this, but also, is just as impressive with his aggression in defence.
I know people will say he will not make it back to 1st grade, but surely he is a better option to carry on the bench, or 18th man, where he doesn't need to play the 80 min. instead of Sloan.

It's a hard one with DCE. He is a great player and not sure if his form is purely due to age or just a toxic environment. Siebold also has form in turning players off as I see similar signs to his time at the Broncos.

The Chooks surely underestimate how good Savala is and how quick he adapted to the NRL. I wish Saints had that problem that is having an agreement with a great halfback for a season but then the 2 kids playing halves kill it and he is no longer needed.

Geez I hope Daniel Anderson (I have the right one this time) can bring in quality juniors like he has at the Chooks. The Chooks are flying at the moment on the back of their young kids in Toia, Savala, Whyte, etc.

Tino is the only forward the Dragons need to recruit. If we can land him we will be a very competitive team.

Good lawd Jack , Trifilli13 mentioned in an earlier post that with Nelson we would be without his services for 6 months , buddy if we signed JWH as well it would be a year .

Still I would be shopping for big Nelson , as ugly as he is , he would certainly add the starch and hopefully controlled aggression to our matches .
