The Perth Bears can also announce that the widely respected Ian Millward has been appointed to the role of Elite Pathways Manager.
Millward has decades of experience in the game across Australia and the UK, where he twice coached St Helens to Super League grand final glory as well as winning two Challenge Cups and the World Club Challenge.

He was most recently with the St George Illawarra Dragons.
“I’m honoured to accept the role with the Perth Bears as the club enters the NRL,” Millward said.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help build strong foundations for the future of rugby league in WA. I look forward to working with players, coaches and the community as we develop pathways that will support long-term success at the elite level.”

As if getting the Bears competitive in the NRL wasnt difficult enough...

Another great removal of staff, only a couple more left... of course we do need to replace them, but id back Watsford to get it done.. really happy with Anderson and Ennis so far (granted Ennis would have been a Flanno connection/recruit).

Also, couldn't Supercars thread.

Was a bit non plussed about his appointment due to the past. He's made his mark.

Didn't come in swinging and I hope has the club's backing to make the tough decisions needed off the field as the squad had a real dig for most of this year.

I hope that all those responsible for poor decisions and poor performance will be held accountable for their actions. No more untouchable 'old boys'.
I think Tino's comment at the Titans is relevant across all clubs!

“Results haven’t been there and ... someone has to be held accountable..........

“I think we have to look at everything going forward. We have to question everything. Are we making the right decisions?

“I’m not saying there needs to be changes, but I’m just saying that both times there’s been two people kept accountable and no one else.”

He will be charged every week he plays wearing the Red V. I can't see Saints landing him. Surely the Dogs will be interested as they have unlimited cap money.
