Fale is a pretty decent NSW Cup standard player. He was going to be upgraded at Penrith next season, but guess he thinks he can get a gig easier elsewhere. But he won’t be saving the Dragons anytime soon, they need some forwards.

Good luck to him though, his path was blocked at Penrith.
Do you rate him enough to make our NRL side week to week?

I think for Fale at around Age 25 and still seeing young guys like Alamoti and Mclean(s) oh and Jenkins all sort of pulling in front of him.. try your chances elsewhere...

Could even be Sami/Fale as our Round 1 wingers next year.. its really our weakest spot in the Top30.. despite technically having a lot of wingers at the start of the year, im personally not happy with any of them... including CT (even when fit) and this is the easiest spot to recruit.. any budding fullback/centre can end up on the wing also.

Thanks GS- always good to hear of a new signing and what better chicken coop to raid again than the Panthers- I don't think it's any coincidence that the previously announced brothers and now Fale have been targeted as the due diligence has already been done by the best talent identification and pathways system in the NRL. Smart thinking from Ando.

Absolutely agree about our current wingers being ordinary and partly why I considered Cody with his X factor speed and evasiveness might be worth a spot. However, these two signings are better than others whose names were being thrown around so I'll look forward to what they can bring to our team.

Sorry but it’s fullback or nothing for Cody in first grade. Wingers are instrumental to the yardage game and need to take tough carries to get out of our own end while the forwards get back inside. It’s just not the ideal spot for him with all the strength he’s lost.

Yep, yardage & ability to score tries. Wing is a specialist spot now & if you're a one trick pony then you don't last long. CT doesn't have speed but he was elite in yardage which is a requirement for any good side & scored tries. Sloan had the ability to score tries but was poor in yardage.

Centre is becoming a more defensive position with ability of a centre to halt the attacking sweep plays of opposition either through decision making or 1v1 tackle. Crichton is elite in this area & having a good attack is a bonus.

Imo you need to have good defence at centre but can get away with average attack like an Izaak Tago & for wingers you need to have some yardage ability while also scoring tries or creating tries through tackle breaks/quick ptb.

I hope for the future we're targeting guys like Alamoti/Mark N/Coates types as wingers who have multiple skills.

That is one of the best defensive efforts from a winger I've ever seen.. I think the Titans are happy for him to go early if we pay full freight.. I reckon we dont need to d*** around trying to shave 50k off, he only has the 1yr of contract left also.

Yeah as brutal as it is I agree, Cody filling in @ Ctr/Wing in NSW Cup is fine, but for NRL we really should be able to aim a lot higher for our top 3 or 4 wing options.. My thoughts are Ando/Flanno will be working towards next year having guys like Fale/Heidke/Williams/Buchanan pushing up and starting to get some proper outside backs challenging first grade like our young forwards have been.. lets face it Suli has had no competition.. Holmes either though he's our best anyway. Dunno what the plan for CT/Feagai/Lawson is just yet.

That said, the NSW Cup year finals arent happening without Cody's amazing input from the back.. and thats important for our development process... so it comes back to what they have planned for the Gutho and/or Sloan replacement.. I just wish he'd take that T&T while we figure it out.. but fair enough.

I remember that chase when it happened. I had never seen anyone come from behind to chase down the Foxx.

The Bloke in a Bar crew have always rated Sami pretty highly as well. Reckon he is a smokey for Origin etc.

Make of that what you will. But I think he is a good get if we get him.

Agree,
I think Sloan is quicker but cannot see him showing that kind of effort in chasing, unfortunately 😩
