Eisenhuth was shit & Molo barely better so losing them was hardly damaging to our campaign.

All teams had injuries and some to key players like Moses, Walker etc etc our issue was no more significant than other teams.

If you think bottom 4 is ok after SF purchased Gutherson, Cook, Holmes, Guller as his key to unlock the side then best you think again.

The result was piss poor.
Except for Guler, maybe you should check the players stats Old Timer, before you tell someone to think again.

My guess is if we are chasing Drinkwater it won't be to play fullback. To put it bluntly, his defense is on par or worse than Sloan's.

So, IMO, he would play at 6. Which in itself creates the question of who plays where. This is my guess and guess only:
1. Gutho
6. Drinkwater
7. Atkinson
9. Cook
14. Liddle
17. KFlan

We all know KFlan will be in there somewhere. However, this does open up our attack with some real weapons and allows some flexibility for injury etc
Ie:
Gutho can go to centre
Drinkwater can go to fullback (not withstanding what I said above)
Cook can play lock (which he's done this season already)
KFlan to the halves or hooker.

Val and Suli centre's, probably CT and Sloan wingers.

Drinkwater is an elite fullback why move him

If we sign Drinkwater, and going with the players currently on our books, it will be to play fullback. So for 2026:

1. Drinkwarer
2. CT
3. Suli
4. Holms
5. TU
6. Gutherson
7. Atkinson
8. Kerr
9. Liddle
10. T Couchman
11. Halangahu
12. Su'A
13. Cook

14. Flanagan
15. Toga
16. Stewart
17. Egan

2026 is said to be a rebuilding year. We have heard this before and have not made the 8. Let's develop our talented young players and, at the same time, try to make the 8.

Saying that his defence is terrible, and then putting him at 6 must be a joke right? Teams would rip his edge to shreds. I don't mind the idea for attack, but to have him in the defensive line simply wouldn't work. On the small chance we do sign him, he'd play fullback. Gutho will play centre, with Holmes to the wing.

Trade offs need to be made between attack and defence in just about every code of football- yes, we have well documented defensive weaknesses with Sloan and Gutherson (for Gutho more the lateral defensive situations where someone can run around him) . But the major problem is that the 2025 Dragons backline was a slow unit. Kyle, King-Togia, Suli, CT and Gutho -five of our seven backs would be flat out running out of sight on a dark night. Holmes and Sloan were our only speed men.

For mine, any addition to our speed is a priority and welcome- so if Drinkie comes on board, its at FB with Gutho replacing either Suli, King-Togia at 6 - or my preference- Cook at No 13. Hamish to edge forward.

No chance liddle and flan both on the bench, will need three impact forwards as interchange not two.

X2 ........ We are not going to get anywhere close to the top teams without speed ........

Donald Trump has just tweeted about the Dragons:

AMAZING season by the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2025 — really something SPECIAL. Would have been so INCREDIBLE if cheating referees and bunker officials – more incompetent than anything seen from the Biden Administration - did not cheat the team out of EIGHT winning games where they manufactured losses by a converted try or less. Now, a lot of fans are saying the close games were “interesting,” let’s just say that. Some VERY questionable calls — people talking about it everywhere! Didn’t always go the Dragons’ way, that’s for sure. But even with that, the team fought hard and came out looking STRONGER than ever.

So much winning, folks! The team played with heart, strength, and unbelievable drive. And Kyle Flanagan? SO GOOD. Really stepped up — smart, tough, totally underrated. Many people saying he had his BEST season ever!

And that HUGE win over the filthy Melbourne Storm — absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Total domination. The Storm couldn’t believe what was happening. Dragons were firing on ALL cylinders — incredible to watch! Many are calling it one of the greatest performances the Dragons have EVER had. The Storm didn’t know what hit them! Total victory. Total success. Dragons fans are VERY happy (and they should be!).

A really amazing season — maybe the start of something BIG! Some might say the start of another real DYNASTY – none of that loser PENRIFF “dynasty” 🐉🔥

Sounds like Shane Flanagan wrote the tweet for Trump.

But come Christmas the turkey sent me a Xmas card ( in email form ) from him and his lovely wife wishing me and my family a a very merry Christmas ! And they made this fool of fools president of the world ! Unbelievable.
