Yes we didn't make finals, but if there was a half not contributing (beyond a nice short ball for Egan against the Broncos) it was LKT.

Kyle maybe unspectacular, but as someone made the point earlier about Glover and Reed, Kyle is our organiser, and he did well.

You can’t justify KF because you think LKT was poor.

KF is anything but an organising half as he had us playing behind the add line in almost every single game.

People need to understand he is with us because no other club wants him and Daddy will protect him.

I agree Old Timer, if Kyle is our half again we are wasting our time and money. Savala is a must on a 3 yr deal. Our GM said we are after a elite half but we can't attract one. So that would mean buying on potential. Savala maybe our last chance for any quality.

I'm hearing you DT, but I think we are putting all our eggs into the Atkinson basket to lead us around the park in 2026.
I also think that like this year with Klemmer, we will pick up an experienced prop forward before the start of next season.

Regarding Kyle, there is one thing for sure. 2026 is his Dad's reckoning year. By round 10, If the team is again relinquishing at the bottom of the ladder, there will be couple board meetings and after 2nd meeting, Shane will be sacked. This has happened before. Remember Hook, Mary and Price. They were all dropped after few years of bad performance. Kyle has to forget about this rebuilding nonsense and bring his best game every week. Basically every team that does not end up grand final winners is rebuilding to win it. His Dad's coaching career depends on his performance.

Alternatively by round 5 if Kyle has not performed, Shane must bite the bullet and drop Kyle and experiment with Atkinson/LKT pairing. Not only his but his son's career will depend on this hard decision. Once Shane is sacked, Kyle's career will be over too. He might end in super league.

So what should we do now? I'd say, recruit a quality halfback on a two-year deal with a one-year extension option and pair him with Atkinson in the halves. Then select the best out of Kyle and Cook for the 14 position. In this way Atkinson will be tested and given the experience he needs to cement his place in the 6 jumper when Reed is ready for first-grade.

I read the need as “NEED“, as in we need to for your sanity more than anything else. Don’t get me wrong, there is some truth in what you say, or at least it’s a reasonable pov for a fan to have, but your comments and non stop continual Flanagan bashing has moved from giving an opinion to a “holy war”, driven by hate more than fact.

I thought LKT’s best was much better than KF’s best but KF was more consistent as he is average of that makes sense.

I have yet to see KF’s game improve or create a MOM performance for anyone in our team which is exactly what you should get from a game managing half.
