He has been a poor recruit, on $700k and not delivered a lot. His last season with us I expect given all the quality coming through. Not only him you need to include Luciano Leillua who is on huge money.
Surely this is the KK signingDragons teasing the signing of Keaon on instagram
Both super excited and frustrated that the current system the NRL has in place means we need wait on tenterhooks while he continues at his current club and hopefully remains healthy for another full season before this becomes reality.DRAGONS OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
KEAON KOLOAMATANGI
Keon Koloamatangi Signed
The Dragons are proud to announce that Keon Koloamatangi has signed until 2031.
The St George Illawarra Dragons have secured one of the biggest signings in the club’s recent history, landing South Sydney, NSW Blues, Tongan International and Australian Kangaroos forward Keaon Koloamatangi on a long-term 5-year deal (2027-2031).
A destructive, highly respected representative forward, Koloamatangi will arrive as a centrepiece of the club’s exciting forward pack. A veteran of 126 NRL games over six seasons - including the 2021 Grand Final - his commitment is a powerful endorsement of the club’s direction and the ambition driving its rebuild.
“I’m excited to be joining the Dragons. The club’s ambition really impressed me. I’ve been watching the squad they’re building and the young forwards coming through, and I want to be part of driving that next era. I’ve loved my time at Souths, but I am looking forward to bringing my experience, my standards and everything I’ve got to the Red V.” Koloamatangi said.
The 27-year-old will bring elite power, leadership and proven big-game experience to a roster built around a new generation of emerging middle and edge forwards. Dragons CEO Tim Watsford said securing Koloamatangi is a deliberate step to invest in an elite forward who can lead the club’s outstanding crop of emerging middles and edges.
“This is a transformative moment for our club and our future,” Watsford said.
“Keaon is one of the premier forwards in the NRL and a proven leader. He’s someone who drives standards every single day. He had significant interest elsewhere, so the fact that he chose to join the Dragons - and commit for five years - tells you everything about where we are heading. We have a group of exceptional young forwards coming through our system, and bringing in a leader of Keaon’s calibre to guide and inspire them is critical for us.”
Head Coach Shane Flanagan said Koloamatangi filled a crucial need in the club’s forward roster. “We have always wanted to bring elite representative players to The Dragons and Keaon is exactly the type of team member we have been searching for. Pairing him with the young pack we have coming through is going to be something our members and fans will relish.”.
Koloamatangi will join the Dragons ahead of the 2027 preseason, becoming a cornerstone of a playing group being constructed around leadership, power, professionalism and long-term success.
Whether Key does an ACL at Souths or Dragons in 2026 makes no difference as not playing either wayBoth super excited and frustrated that the current system the NRL has in place means we need wait on tenterhooks while he continues at his current club and hopefully remains healthy for another full season before this becomes reality.
IIWII I guess...
MMA has been his latest callAnd on a side note , it would appear that our old friend Zachary Lomax has taken issue with the Eels for not granting him a full release from the club .
According to the terms of his release from Parramatta he could not play for another NRL club until the duration of the 4 year period. But hey now Melbourne have come calling with their cheque book so apparently he wishes to completely forget the terms of his release from the Eels and play for them , the Storm .
Does this bloke know the true meaning of giving your word to any rugby league club ? As it is he has no team to play for in either rugby union or league and he has also reconsidered the idea of a foray into boxing where there was a damn good chance of his brains being scattered even further .
But hang in there Zac baby , perhaps singing could be more your go ? You should enter in that Tele series’ The Voice ‘ who knows, you could come out a winner ? ? ?

I shudder at the recent memory of him and Hunt being two of our biggest players - top tier toxicity. Thanking the universe that the recent turn of events and that general warm feeling of being that club perhaps on the rise has well and truly put that in the past - for me anyway.Glad he left us he was toxic.
