I think Fullback is different now.. huge kilometres they do, too risky for Val to pick up more soft tissue injuries.. its the same reason guys like Turbo and Latrell have struggled and rly should be @ctr.

Alright to cover an injury for a week perhaps.. but if we had a longterm Gutho injury I dunno what we will do honestly.. Sloan is rly our only actual injury cover.. so maybe we see how hes travelling in cup at the time.. he had a good half and a bad half last weekend.

Definitely need a younger quicker fullback, Gutho can be the back up.
I'm over Sloan, he's not the answer.
If Burton is 17 he's years away from NRL.
Question is who is a realistic fullback we can look at and chance of signing ?

If it was me I'd be targeting Bula ...... If nothing else move Holmes to fullback Gutho to 5/8 Buchanan to the centre ....... Coach needs to start mixing things up , a scrum 30 m out from opposition line throw big Luciano at 5/8 he can ball play and definitely have the opposition in two minds , this is something Flanno doesn't do ........

Pretty much spot on...
RTS .?? Only if he gets immediate release
Bula ..main target ...Match winner..speed speed speed
Purdue..Future star...lightning quick ..fullback ? yes or any backline position
Drinkwater ..versatile reliable not as brilliant but gets the job done
Deardon...rumours were abound weeks ago he wanted out of Cows..We were mentioned , but ......
Atko is versatile and if Reed Deardon united , could play anywhere inc 13
Gotta move now..esp with two new sides entering next two years
Complete clean out required with so much deadwood to be moved out...

I’m wondering re Gutho, RTS, Suli, Holmes and Ollie Burton signed till end of 2028

I’m guessing the pressure is on the Dragons to be a finals team 2027 and to have a few years there after to be in the hunt for a top4 - u would expect that would be the planning?

2026 FB - Gutho
2027 - Gutho RTS fight it out for FB?
2028 - FB maybe RTS and or Burton

if that was the pathway ie experienced players that can handle finals pressure conditions

What would that mean for Suli and Holmes?

what would be their roles? Would we move on Suli?

Bit puzzled by dropping of JDB.

Though he was doing was he was bought for. Start the game with good defence and then Walker came on.

Williams has been named 13, up against Stewart. Maybe, he will have fresher legs.

Maybe they don’t need to start with good defence against us due to our pop gun attack?

Or

Maybe it might be a bit emotional to play against his old club so they bring him into the game a bit later?

Or

Maybe he was only ever going to play 13 whilst there starting lock was injured and now he goes into their prop rotation and comes on to increase their intensity just prior to half time when we are most vulnerable?

Most Parra fans I've interacted with this season have been of the opinion that the Dragons did the right thing letting JDB go and are pretty dirty with their club for signing him - particularly as he is exactly the opposite kind of player Ryles has been building the sqaud around - young, fast, agile. JDB looks like he has lined his legs with lead over the off season. He was way off the pace first two games this season and way too slow to get up and out of the ruck. I think this is one Flanno got right.

They r putting too many minutes into JDB imo.. he can still make impact just not as much of it.. im pretty stoked if he doesnt play, I have no doubt we would have made a special effort to fold a few of our boys in half.
