The club/BOD need to get serious or else close up shop. Fans are becoming increasingly disillusioned with the lack of foresight and decisiveness in decision making and an exodus has started with some leaving to support other teams. The future of any NRL team relies on its fanbase and the Dragons is becoming less and less engaged.

It is so critical that change cannot be left until "next week" it has to be started now. I know many changes have been made at the club but the ones that really matter are again on hold from the sound of things. The football department is a joke and any member who has been there more than a year or who is directly involved with the coaching of first grade should be removed immediately.

If the usual tap dance continues the club will lose fans, it will lose juniors, it will lose players it may want to keep, it will have a fractured playing group and it will be impossible to recruit. All this is already happening and will only get worse.

I just saw the team list vs Souths, what a joke, the only change is to bring in a replacement for Suli because he is injured. Kyle still at half after the crap game he had last week and the junior forwards and Kade Reed still being dicked around. Get rid of the cancers now because I fear its already too

Mate, the only logical eexplanation ffor t he delay is that more Than one person is getting the sack

From what I ready we will go nowhere until we have a proper halfback & a proper coach. Both must be confirmed asap or we are going no where. Coach Flanagan (who I like) has stuffed up by putting all his faith in his son, who is a good depth or bench player at best, but not a halfback or 5/8. Big mistake & I think he has to go sooner than later, so we can move on & repair the damage.

apparently there is an updated offer of 1m a year.

Guess thats where we are as a club. Roosters would have had to pay 600k and a spot on foxsport after retirement
Sounds like the uncertainty of who will be coach and halvs is a concern.
A sacking right now with new coach unknown is bad timing.
They probably need to say the coach is staying to show stability and Reed is our halfback in the near future not Kyle.

Hopefully his mate Val can convince him to sign regardless.

There’s another report now that the offer was 3mill over 3 years - is that lowballing? Not trying to be argumentative or anything, I’m genuinely interested in what yourself + every one else in here thinks on that
In normal circumstance Drinky is Not a 1 mill player
We are asked to pay GST for our lowly standing on the Ladder
Drinky needs to b careful not to be too greedy
Perth is the only oth Club seriously looking at him
Would personally throw more at Bulla long term

I think 3 for 3. Is overs! BUT it’s what we need to do to get these players! So I think spot on!
Just need it signed on the dotted line

Your's will be his last NRL coaching job...there's zero doubt about that

Reece Walsh makes 800k a year. I think using the market of other players in the position is good in these situations. But, Drinkwater's camp may also think that because he's relocating from QLD to NSW, AND joining a worser team, he should be compensated/paid accordingly. Me personally, I think 800k a year is about right for a 28 year old FB. He'll be 31-32 by the time his contract is up. If he wants more than 1M a year, I'd be looking elsewhere - Bula on 1.1-1.2M a year makes more sense financially and age-wise value-for-money. But again, Bula might have already indicated he doesn't want to come here (who can blame him), and Drinkwater could be our last hope, hence the big money offer we've put in.

That's the new offer. I don't think he is worth 1m personally, I'm guessing the first offer was around the 800-850k

Mate, I admitted my age. I didn’t say I’d lost my good looks.
My sincerest apologies Mojo , I constantly believe that every body loses their stunning good looks as they age , but alas it would appear that it is only I .

Perhaps if I replace the mirror in the bathroom the problem may be solved ?

In my opinion the biggest problem we have is the 50/50 ownership model. Neither side willing to commit proper money to the club because neither are actually the majority owner. I wouldn’t either if I wasn’t a majority owner. This is what has hamstrung us. We are an Amateurish shambles as a result, because we are not willing to spend coin on the best executive team and coaching structure.
Both sides need to sell to an owner who is committed to spending to improve all levels of the club. I believe this is what Gould was alluding to and I agree with him.
As for LPT, he had clearly already decided he was going, when the stories broke 6 months ago. I think that was when he was offered an extension and turned it down. Hence being excluded from the team. I have no evidence of this but it makes sense given Flanagan’s preference to have quality juniors sign extensions before they get an extended run at nrl level. All those crapping on about us letting him go are probably way off the mark. My bet is they wanted to keep him but he wanted to know what other clubs would pay him.
Saints should buy pour WIN and Gordon's shares.

Flanagan's biggest mistake after resigning Kyle is he said on national tele that he has no one else to bring up from reserve grade to which are running first.
I believe that was his final nail in the coffin.
I hate hearing negative comments from our coach, stuff like we cant win the GF, well you just flogged the players during preseason and you are basically telling them you are shit, saying stuff like we have no better players etc, its just all negative to the whole club and fanbase and also bringing up 2016 at every opportunity is f**king annoying.
I had high hopes for him but f**k him, time to go..

There is a way through this crisis, sack all in the football department, and then replace them with:

Richo as GM Football.
W Talau as Head Coach.
Assistant Coaches to be appointed by Richo.
Recritment Staff - Richo to determine
Let go of the players we don't want to keep, some may have to play reserve grade.
Hire a firm to manage the fitness staff for the rest of this season.

Team to play against the Roosters:

1. Sloan - there is no one else available
2. Fale - lets hope he performs
3. Homes
4. Suli
5. Tu
6. Atkinson
7. Reed
8. Couchman
9. Liddle
10. Leilua
11. Egaan
12. Sul'A
13. Stewart

Bench to be advised

Wow - Jonah Pezet having a great game for the Storm - he can tackle and kick. How much money are the Storm paying him to be a back-up.
If he was at the Dragons i guarantee you these weasel journalists would sob that he is being denied a start and push for he to leave. Why arn't they getting stuck into the Storm?
Storm had Pezet and Fa'alogo hidden in reserves for 1-2 years and nobody called for them to go elsewhere to get a start.
We have LPT and the journo's are crying out he should leave the Dragons to get a start elsewhere.
The Dragons are losing the narrative because of weak leadership and management plus i dare say so many journos and NRL identities want the Dragons to be the next Bluebags!

Youd never hear them say it about Melb, Roosters or the Broncos because they want those teams to suck up all the elite talent. We are just a feeder team at this point.
