My impression of Hayne's long kicking was that he was trying to get the Manly back three to hang right back to give him more room to attempt the 40/20.

also lets us chip and chase if they are all standing deep

Same, Noise.

Instead, he threw two terrible passes that absolutely killed any momentum we had, thus essentially killing any chance we had of snatching a win in the dying seconds.

Let's not mention it, though...

Why didn't one of the halves come in and take control?

Or were they too GUN SHY?

I think Hindy stuffed it up when he got involved in one of the last plays and threw a ball which was forced back many metres by the opposition.

In my mind, they all panicked and no one wanted to take responsibility.

Yep, all Hayne's fault.

Hey HJ, ask your little buddy Burty if he enjoyed receiving that 20 metre pass on his chest when he was unmarked.

And you guys prove me right once again.

HaHa wanted the ball, there's no doubt about that. Go and watch the game again and see where he positions himself.

End result? Two terrible passes right when we didn't need them.

Let's not forget kicking out on the fulltwice, thus handing Manly beautiful position, twice.

And that pass to Burt? FAN-f**kING-TASTIC! That's why I rate him. Oh, and Suity, I think it was a helluva lot longer than 20m.

Yet no one wants to admit that he blew it right when we needed something, do they? He did some great things in that game (pass to Burt, try saving tackle, 40/20) yet these are cancelled out by very poor things (kick out on the full twice, two abysmal passes).

This is the wankfest that I am talking about. No one has even mentioned those two passes except me, yet they absolutely destroyed any chance we had of winning.

The best players on Monday were all forwards. Fui, Horo, Smith and Hindmarsh built the game on their hard yards. Mannah and Allgood made strong contributions, as well. No one else should even have been considered for mention in the points thread, yet HaHa gets the wankfest because you're all too braindead to understand what football is really about, and are more concerned with your myopic groin explosions.

******

Back on topic...I'm pretty sure that a win this weekend will see us 1 point out of the 8. Back this up against the Broncos and we'll possibly sneak in. From that point on, all we need is a ~50% run home and we'll scrape in.

Considering our last two matches, we should manage far better than that. As I've previously said, I can only see 3 teams being able to match us from now on.

The thing is we shouldn't have been in that position to try and score in the last minute or so. So no, he did not blow it.

I agree that the forwards played real well but I thought Hindy didn't play as well as other games but then I expect alot of him. I actually thought he made some hitups when we didn't need him to make a hitup.

Without Hayne buddy, we would be worse than where we are now.

Stu Galbraith would have solved all our problems.

Absolutely. If HaHa knew his positional play at the back then the kick would have been cleaned up. Once again, go back and watch the game before you all sook.

Damned straight.

Once again, I'm not bagging HaHa but instead the wankfest. Get your blinkers off.

Calling Hayne 'Haha' constantly is bagging him out to begin with so with every post that HJ uses that little nickname for him, whether he's willing to admit it or not he's bagging Hayne out.

If you're more than 20m out with less than a minute to go, you're supposed to have no chance. Anyteam defending well will stop any attacking team no matter how good they are.

If we'd managed to score it would have been Manly who blew it. The fact we didn't score means everybody on both sides of the ball did as expected.

Bulldust. The last two minutes is as valid as any other two minutes in the game. Manly snatched it from us out of nothing and we were just as capable of doing the same.

Not true. You'd expect a team to be a lot more switched on and work harder in cover in that situation. You know most if not all scoring plays come from lapses in the defensive side.

Manly snatched it from us out of nothing and we were just as capable of doing the same.

Manly only snatched that late winner because we f**ked up. If we had worked harder and scrambled better they never would have scored.

Sorry, Poops, but those two statements contradict each other. The second one proves my point.

Once again, I rate HaHa but don't rate the wankfest.

Not at all.

You're saying Hayne failed because we didn't score in the last minute; I'm saying if we had scored it would be because Manly's defence failed.

Likewise, Manly scored that try with three minutes to go because we failed. If they hadn't scored and we won, it wouldn't be because Manly failed. With three minutes to go you'd expect a team to hold on to a win. Whether the team chasing the lead scores or not, they can't fail - that's only an option for the defending team in that situation.

No, your first statement says that the last two minutes (etc) inherently include extra effort.

Your second states that failure during earlier times (ours) was due tolack of effort, thus implying there should have been more effort. An equal amount of effort in every instance would lead to the type of equalibrium that would not make one instance more vulnerable than the next. This, however, is countered by your first statement that says the last period inherently includes extra effort.

I believe that the likes of St. George, Manly and Melbourne (the frontrunners) would state that there should be as much effort in the first minute as the last, and vice versa. They would argue for equilibrium across the entire 80 minutes. This agrees with my point that a try in the last two minutes is as possible as at any other time and runs counter to your first statement (which is contradicted by your second) that there would be inherent additional effort in the final period.
