The run to the finals

I get it, he's sticking to what he believes in. That's important as a head coach - being as emotive as we are on here wouldn't work so well.

I just don't see when our style of play has held up in the back half of the season. Tigers at home, Titans away, that's about it. Don't have to be a genius to realise the challenge on Saturday is a lot bigger than that
Yea gotta respect how he sticks to his guns. No one benefits from an indecisive coach but conversely, I agree.. no one benefits from an overly stubborn one either.

Lots of talk last night about the Dolphins next year and how they have to somehow find a spot for Fuller in the back 5 but also Cobbo and, eventually Bostock. And then in the pack how they'll add Flegler, Gilbert, Saifiti and Plath to the starting team.

With a bit of luck on the injury front they'll be a very different side next year. But same with Souths, and likewise Parra who've unearthed a gun in Iongi and just need Moses to play most of the season.

I know this season hasn't finished yet and we could still surprise everyone including ourselves, but I'm already struggling to see how we're going to make similar progress ourselves next year, especially if we don't find a little more ambition in our playing style.

I think we'll see more of the same. His comments after the game were pretty bullish, he seems convinced our style of play can beat teams if the lads execute properly. I think we all have our doubts there, but tbf its probably too late to try anything different anyway.

At this stage I just want us to defend well. We clearly lack x-factor but we dont need that to make good defensive decisions and stick our one-on-ones. If we do that, I can live with whatever else happens.

Yep, in fairness he’s achieved a lot more this year than I thought possible.

But also probably fair to say that 1-17 Penrith are better, probably in 16 positions, I’m not sure what Schneider offers…. And the game plans are not unrelated…. Hard to see how we can trouble them, but it’s a funny old game…

You don't need to be a genius to see that DWZ is a liability on defence. How many tries have his opposite wingers scored past him? And how long have opposition teams been targeting him?
Not rectifying this is a major flaw in his coaching ability for me.
