Nothing beats old school Simpsons.

Enjoy Futurama (episodes) as well. Haven't seen any of the movies. The Brannigan and Kif combo is pure win for me.

they should have done what they've done with futurama long ago with the simpsons (that is, retire the TV show and release a feature film every now and then).

as it stands the show has lost all of it's dignity... like an old senile grandparent that sh*ts their pants daily and throws it around the room.

It wasn't retired, it was cancelled. The movies then came out as a result of fan interest from DVDs and nagging.

second every opinion which believes the simpsons should have stopped 10 years ago... it just got boring and stupid, i havent watched a new one in a very long time

I love American Dad and Family guy and Futurama suffered cos it got cancelled. but South Park is the gift that keeps giving, they still manage to make it funny and reasonably fresh after all this time

"But then, right when I took the picture, Butters got really hot, so he pulled his pajama bottoms down, and then I tripped, and, fell down, and my mouth landed right on his penis, and, then I thought of something funny, so I smiled up at, the camera and gave like a, thumbs up, and, and then Kyle took the picture from me, and he's gonna show it to everybody, and make them think I'm gaaaaaaay. Bastard, beat me to The Boondocks

I'll gladly take American Dad, South Park or The Boondocks over most of The Simpsons of recent times.

Shame the new Simpsons are so lame....

Simpsons peaked from series 4-12...

I'm giving King of the Hill another go. Used to absolutely despise it, now that I'm giving it another crack I'm really getting into it. It has really subtle humour in it which is brilliant when you start watching it succession.

American Dad is really hit or miss with me. I generally manage to get at least one laugh out of it but there are a lot of flat jokes as well, mostly those that deal with cultural references where you insert a celebrity laugh and you're expected to just accept it and laugh.

Family Guy has been mostly s**t since the straight to dvd movie. I always manage to get one laugh...out of about 5 episodes but unlike old episodes, I have no desire to watch repeats. Which is sad, given Family Guy was always about it's shallow comedy...I suppose it just ran out of quality material after three seasons?

The Simpsons is lucky to get one laugh out of me per season these days. That would be alright, if the episodes were interesting like they used to be but they're generally on par with Family Guy material but unlike Family Guy they aren't as quick to push the envelope which works for Family Guy to some degree.

South Park is by far the most consistent show. It's really changed when it first began where the hilarity behind the show was that no matter what crazy kind of adventures these kids get up to for the most part none of them seen that unaffected. Their best friend dies and all they do is simply repeat the same line, their town gets destroyed by a Godzilla sized Barbara Streisand robot only for that said robot to be destroyed by a mutated version of Robert Smith (lead singer of The Cure) and the kids seem oblivious to the peril around them.

Skip forward and the town now seems to overeact over such trivial matters as Facebook, Guitar Hero and World of Warcraft. It's an interesting 180 and one that I feel keeps the show fresh. While I preferred the original take, as that brand of humour always resonates with me, I do concede the latter helps keep it fresh and topical. I always get asked about a handful of people 'Have you seen the such and such topic of South Park yet'.

Futurama is crap though. The movies, yes even the first one, were all fairly terrible.

The original futurama series shat all over Family guy. From the point it started it was better than anything the Simpsons have since put out, although older Simpsons is still comfortably number one.

The first and 4th movies were decent bu tthe middle two were pretty average.
