This weeks main event in the NRL at Shark Park reminds me so munch of the old TV wresslin' days. Back in the good old days.
For the youngens... the wresslin' was on TV at midday on the weekends. .... live .... free to air. It was back when it was fair dinkum and not roided up rigged bouts that Mr MacMahon puts on these days.
Every now and then on TVs World Championship Wrestlin' they'd put on a bout between to two speedbumps... like Con Tollios -v- Larry O'Day. Blokes that never won nuffin. (Sounds familiar)
The bout would be a torrid event with neither wrestler able to land a knockout blow.
All of a sudden one of the big bad guys would storm ringside, grab the mic of Big Sam Menniker and scream down the camera, "what are these fools up too?" "You should have real men in the ring.!!!"
He'd then rip off his shirt - jump into the ring and belt the shit out of both Con and Larry. As their useless carcasses were strewn over the mat and the Ref Wallaby Bob McMasters was standing over them waving his hands the big bad guy would laugh sinisterly and just swagger out of the ring.
I just hope that this weekend we are the Larry O'Days. Larry usually had Cons measure by the time the Baddie got into the ring and smashed the shit out of both of them.
Anyhow no need to fear.
Come Friday, right after ASARDA issue their infringements, the NRL are announcing that the Donkeys are being stripped of all competition points for 2014.
