Yes. The news that Kerry Stokes is about to throw major cash at the game is a disaster.

Should have stuck with Ruperts plan of Canterbury, Penrith and Cronulla representing all of NSW, right Moffo?

You dickhead :lol::lol:

Looks like you've missed the boat here mate. Channel Nine have retained the rights so Stokes won't be throwing much towards the NRL when it comes to $$$.

I will wait for the full details but jeez this sounds like a weak capitulation on what the fans have been demanding in terms of coverage.

Whats next 2GB keep the exclusive rights?

The press conference is at 11am.

I hear that Fox threatened to reduce its part of the deal if 7 won the F2A rights as they're trying to block a 7 buyout.

Fox needs us more than we need them. This doesn't make logical sense to me. ARLC is useless. Hooray for progress.

Colour me selfish if you must, but the big thing i'm still waiting on are details surrounding local coverage. i.e local teams on FTA in local markets. I want all Raiders games live on FTA in Canberra, just like all swans/GWS games are shown live on FTA into Sydney (and Canberra for some reason).

As to the money, even if it doesn't live up to inflated expectations of $1.4 billion, it's still a HUGE increase over what we've been surviving on. We're going to be able to do great things for grass roots and expansion with this cash injection.

Eagerly awaiting the full details at 11:30

Other then the money this all sounds f**ked. Can't believe the coverage is staying the same. Fox has bent us over AGAIN

I'm a bit confused, this seems to have happened so quick. Did the ARLC take the first officially tabled offer? Did 9 and 7 even get a chance to tale an offer after Nines first offer rights?

This is how I picture the negotiations went:

ARLC: Hey guys this is the list of things we'd like out of your coverage if you win.
Fox and 9: No.
ARLC: Please.
Fox and 9: No. We're happy with the status quo. You know the pathetic 1 live FTA game per week, and just 5 Pay tv games.
ARLC: Deal.

Nine and Fox being able to continue their dictation of the schedule is an epic fail, why did Grant say 2 weeks ago that patience is the key and nothing may be done by late September, then we sign off on this just 3 days after it was offered?

Ugh.

Apparently EVERY party made their offer on Friday.

The ARLC made their decision on Monday.
