Yeah. In 5 years time, the internet and mobile market will be huge. I hope they have done something smart in that part of the deal... The rest doesn't seem that fantastic.

There was mention in one of the reports about how the deal includes innovative ways of getting the broadcast feed out to tablets and mobiles. Not sure whether that means, really.

why have you come out of hibernation today?

Coverage is worth a lot. That's real legit value noone can take away.

By the time the players and clubs and everyone other body gets their piece there won't be much left to go towards growth. And what you do have left you have no guarantee that it'll be spent wisely.

That's why FTA coverage is so important. It's worth so much more than just money. f**k 1 billion, I'd have taken 900 million for proper FTA coverage.

What's the point of some kid out in the suburbs getting a footy and a cap to take home when he only has 1 live FTA game a week to watch. That simply isn't enough.

FTA coverage is the best and most important way to grow the game and we've been f**ked over yet again in that department.

What the f**k has the AFL got to do with this?

We should think of our sport as completely independent.

We wanted 1 billion.

We didn't get it.

Which would have been fine if the game became better for the fans.

But it hasn't. We won;t get additional FTA games. We wont have Fox simulcasting games live when Nine refuse to show them live. And fixed FAIR scheduling looks unlikely.

So why be happy?

we wanted a billion... including contra obviously .... & we got it

We should think of our sport as completely independent.

we should ..... but no one ... including all the media ever has
our present deal ... our new deal .... & our next deal ... will be compared to the AFL's
according to your warped logic they didn't get a billion either

again ... get a grip

League Central: Hey guys: The great Buzz is tellis us: According to sources, Channel Nine will continue to cover two Friday night games – one involving a QLD team and the other the match of the round. Nine will also keep the 4pm timeslot on Sunday afternoons.

So basically - before any details have been officially released - we are being told you've got more money, but everything else pretty much stays the same?

Interested to see what will come out of mobile and internet rights - very important imo.

Well they aren't going to be showing any live games on your mobile that are going to be shown on delay on channel 9 so really who gives a shit?

At best Fox will simulcast their games through the foxtel app.
