Ladmate is still being taken as serious when writing of Manning as choker? Another Superbowl ring might change his mind?

18to87 was spot on a few posts up. End of alleged "debate".

Manning does good in the regular season and bad in the playoffs. What do you call that? Disregard everything but regular season?

Nate Kaeding is the best kicker in NFL history then.

Errr have you seen Manning's playoff numbers? He has had some incredible playoff games and as mentioned numerous games where he was forced to carry the whole team which is too much for any QB in the playoffs. I am not debating that he had a couple of rough days but to rate his whole playoff career off of those 3 or so below average performances is ridiculous especially for someone who has carried his team to the playoffs most of the years in his career.

Brady has had 3 or so below average playoff performances too so I guess he does bad in the playoffs by your standards too. Many in the States actually argue that Brady has not won a Superbowl since becoming a great QB. Was he clutch when they won 3 superbowl's? Sure he was but he did not rise to Manning's level until afterwards.

Peyton Manning when it's all said and done WILL BE considered the Greatest QB of All-Time. Un-freaking-believable what he does for Indianapolis. No QB would get the same results, numbers etc as no other QB has done or does what Manning does under centre for his team. No one.

Just my opinion. I think he will close the debate over the coming few years.

.

i'd rather have kurt warner than any of those other qbs in the playoffs.

kurt had 4 playoff losses. the rams/cards could/should have won 3 of them.

2001 against the saints - saints are leading 31-7 in the 4th, the rams score 21 points very quickly to make it 31-28. the saints had to punt with 2 mins on the clock, the rams were unstoppable by this point. az hakim botches the catch and the saints regather, game over.

2002 superbowl against the pats - the rams score 14 ponts in the 4th qtr to level the score. all momentum with the rams, all the d needs to do is stop the pats. they let them waltz down the field to kick the winning fiieldgoal, albiet with the refs holding tom brady's hand(non call on grounding - brady throws it to open field when about to be sacked, refs calling player out of bounds when clearly tackled in bounds giving the patriots an extra 15-20 seconds to work their way down the field)

2009 superbowl against the steelers - cards score 14 points in the 4th qtr to take a 4 point lead with 2:30 on the clock. the d has the steelers at 1st and 20 on the steelers 10 yard line. somehow (bad tackling/covering) the steelers go the length of the field to score the winning td. just a sidenote, kurt threw for 375 yards and 3 tds on a d that only allowed 150 yards passing per game during the regular season.

2010 against the saints - cards got smashed, never in it.

kurt was clutch in the playoffs. even after making horrible throws during games he always came back and led the team back with a chance to win the game.

man i miss him.

Warner > Brady imho.

Sure he might'nt have the superbowls, but he's plays better under pressure, the only other thing which counts it seems.

How can anyone try and discredit Peyton Manning?

The guy is a phenomenon. Listening to the audio of the huddle when Manning is leading a drive is the best fan experience in American Football IMO.

The guy is a natural leader and was born to play football.

Tommy in my opinion anyone who wants to discredit Payton Manning has no idea about American Football or the position of quarterback.

Glad the discussion about Manning is over.

As for Warner nice change of topic. Class act. Nice post Kurt Faulk.

Tommy, 18to87 and DC_fan restore some faith. Nice posts re: Manning. Glad some see greatness when it's in front of them ;-)

I wonder what Tom Brady has to do to earn recognition from some people.

6th round pick becomes an elite QB.
3 superbowls in 4 years.
2 Superbowl MVPs, should have been 3.
Rarely having "stars" in other skilled positions.
NFL record for TDs in a season.
Best record of any current QB in the playoffs.
Takes pay cuts to improve the team.
Does tonnes for charity.
Never puts team mates under a bus.
Marries Giselle.

Kurt Warner was good, VERY good. But I'm sorry, if you think Kurt Warner was a better QB you're a fool.

Its a farce that Brett Favre wasn't number 1.
Most touchdowns ever.
Most interceptions ever.
Most consecutive starts ever.
Most retirements ever.
Most game losing interceptions ever. (probably)

Seriously Farve #6 the bloke has to have the most Int of any QB ever by a long way and considering he cost his team with Stupidity last year

my top 5 was exactly the same but i had Barry and Deion Sanders 6 and 7

The one year Brady actually had a offensive weapon he broke Mannings TD record. That shows something right there.

Regular Season = Manning > Brady
Playoffs = Brady > Manning

Sadly for Colts fans, playoffs matter more.

I heard a stat today, the Colts have had 11 first round picks in skilled positions in Peyton's offence. The Patriots? 4 (including Moss).

And the year Brady had a receiver, he broke Mannings TD record (the one he set with the leagues best talent).

Tom Bardy is a very good qb, possibly even a great one. Should end up in the Hall of Fame.

I would not be able to seperate Brady and Warner as qbs. But I don't think we need to. Lets just appreciate two very good qbs.

i know this is extremely premature but in 15 years i bet they do that list again and it will have brady and manning at around 7- 10 but i bet we talking about Sam Bradford as one of the best QBs of all time
