If you could visit one place in the world, where would it be and why?

For me, I'd have to say Germany/France regions. Where the majority of WWII took place, the historical and geographic importance is fascinating to me and it's one of my must dos. I think it would be a brilliant, yet moving experience.

Japan, Akihabara District in Tokyo. Anime/Electronics gallore. Or Kabukichō District in Tokyo and have a pornstar experience in one of their love hotels.

I you do go, head down to Odaiba - it is a weird place.

Harajuku and Shinjuku is great people watching - the cosplayers on a Sunday morning are incredible.

Also, Ueno park is lovely. As you wander through it is hard to remember you are in the middle of Tokyo.
Finish it all off with a visit to the Meguro parasite museum.

Might be going on an all-expenses-paid trip to Tanzania later this year courtesy of my site. Five days accommodation, food, and a safari through the Serengeti! It does mean flying myself over there, though, and so far the cheapest ticket I've found has been $1800 return

Cross those fingers, peeps!

You can, sir!

I'm going to send her an email reminding her (once again) of my eagerness this afternoon. Haven't heard from her in a couple of days and spots are limited.

Reminds me, come next week - I need to finish patching up your site. Have just been 24/7 flat-out as it's now 18 days until I leave.

Torn.

I have a week between finishing work and flying home, so I'd intended to spend 4 days in Beijing. I've been here 2.5 years and haven't seen stuff like the Great Wall or the Summer Palace.

However, I'll be leaving China with roughly $2500 and that's got to cover two weeks in Sydney, shipping stuff home, plus give me some start up cash at home.

So, to go to Beijing or to save my dosh for home.

Sydney's my only really expense at home, but it's two weeks including plenty of catch-ups and a bachelor party in The Rocks

Can the parents help you out a bit with money or anything?

I'm stoked to go, just got to hope I can make it happen.

I'd rather not ask them, tbh. They've just spent a lot of money finishing the second house so that we'll have somewhere to stay when we visit, and I doubt they'll have much extra lying about.

Waiting for the taxi to take me to the airport to catch the plane to go to Bali.

Between the Bintang singlet brigade and the Eat Pray Lovers I think I'll neck myself. Oh well, five days of it and no election violence I guess. Not that there has been any election violence and I probably could have spent the time on an abandoned tropical island elsewhere in the archipelago.
