The other quasi-governmental comparison that you could make would be a debt bondage system, in fact the more I think of this the more it makes sense.

You're saved by the hospital people and you accrue a debt which is impossible to pay off because as stated in the episode, you've got to eat. As such you're effectively enslaved and like what happened during slavery itself some nasty shit goes down, ie. rape.

Whats with the stealth zombie creeping up on the Preacher? He literally just looked in every direction and nothing was there then BAM! zombie in his face

The writers get fuggin lazy on this show sometimes

I think the season got off to a cracking start but the last 3 or 4 eps have been pretty boring IMO.

Last couple of eps are ok. My main problem at this stage is that now there doesn't appear to be an overall arc for the characters to pursue so we're just bouncing from one set of bad guys to the next, plus zombies.

I had a thought that it would be cool for them to arrive at CDC type place (similar to the one that was blown up) and set up to run missions etc from there while a cure is worked out.

Yeah it's like that scene with the van last week. They're walking across this huge bridge where they can see for miles around them and there's nothing there, but after a 5 second look in the van there's suddenly a swarm on top of them.
