Sam Stonestreet walks into a bar.
Barman: Why the long face?
Sam: I'll have a double. I'll be in the corner.

Fitzfarker would be the type of bloke has the same breakfast every morning. Holidays at the same place every xmas.
Favourite movie is Groundhog day.
Is currently reading a book he's read before.
Reads from the same script every presser. The players run home, watch it and go to bed fall asleep at the same time amd wear the sme pyjamas.
they sleep safe in the knowledge coach thought it was a good game, both teams ripped in and thus, they rock up next week and repeat.
To quote Derryn Hinch:
Same.
Same.
Same.
Shake it up Fitz for farksake.
Wear a wig and glasses to the presser.
Something.
Anything.
Please.
Ramiens treading water. Game comes to life when Sifa comes on. He runs hard. He runs straight and defenders hate that.
Whack him at right centre.
Thats something different for a start.
Opposition thinks, shite didn't see that coming.
Jesse is a friend, I know he's been a good friend but he's one of too many on rinse and repeat every week to the point their games have become ineffective.
As in not effective.
At all.
This must be the approach at training.
Same again.
And again.
Don't think.
You know your job.
Stay in your lane.
We are boring.
Bailey - wear a headgear. Get mouthy. No impact with ball.
Jesse - Wake up. No impact.
Mcinnes - what is the aim of this guys game?? The lock should be a roving runner. No impact with ball.
Ronnie - look for the ball. Just waits for the game to come to him.
Getting to the stage they're dialling it in.
Do your job. No more.
Yes, says the coach - but it worked tonight.
Did it?
AFB - it's concerning this guy adopts this approach.
Here's a thought...
Have a winger trail a forward or is that outlawed?
But the back 5 do theor job - they are really good at running it back to start the set.
And....one of them almost challenged for a bomb tonight.
Yaaaaaaaawwwn.

A wins a win yadda yadda.
But Manly were shite. Did DCE play?
If Kennedy doesn't do what he did we probably lose.
If Tricky doesn't play we struggle huge for points.

Who am I?
I wear 7.
I wear BWB.
I never break the line.
My kicking game is meh.
I run sideways.
Little lay-off passes to a forward 20 metres from the defensive line is my favourite play.
When Im interviewed people cringe.
My game is 2nd to my hair.
Answer:
Chad.
No, Nicho.
Hang on, Chad
Farkit!..Nicho

The 7 was minutely better today. But is this going to go on and on.
And on??
When is coach going to get serious.
Trindall was running the left - saw opportunity on the right Nicho couldnt exploit so skips to the right, overplays the 7, gets a repeat set then lays on 2 tries.
There must be some serious men's shed talk at training to appease a certain sensitive man and allow him to wear the 7 shirt.

Knights next week.
Do we follow the script?...
Bunnies
Dogs
Raiders
Manly
...fade in the 2nd half.
The longer the game goes, gets closer to the result, the more insipid we become.
In a lot of contests but prob lack a real leader.

A sharks supporter with a bad case of deja-vu walks into a bar and finds Fitzy serving the drinks.
Fitzy: Same again?

Position Vacant:
Why not try a life enhancing career change as the weekly purveyor of unsightly residue in the kitchen. Unless you can't stand the heat.

Must posses extremely accurate insight into a far too-often anti-climatic 80 minutes of your life which you'll never get back.

The rewards? Well, there are none.

Don't apply - the job's yours.

Game comes to life when Sifa comes on. He runs hard. He runs straight and defenders hate that.

You left out the deft ball playing he used a few times as well.
He basically spent his entire time out there showing McInnefective what a 13 should play like.
But shit for brains subs him out in order to get Atkinson a token 12 minutes.
Which, incidentally, coincided with Manly getting back into the game.

Pillock.

This is criminal.

A triumphant return S73! I hope this is not a mere cameo.

No one else can do it like you.

Stake for Since 73. Great trade.
Cheers man. Nice sentiment.
But the rubber gloves have been hung up.

I still watch us every week but the air was released from the balloon early October 2016.

Back in the day when our favourite Sharkies played it would deadset ruin my weekend if we lost. As with a lot of us who have done the hard yards for nearly 60 years of being a Sharkie, the frustrations and disappointments just grew and grew....until that magical night when the boys finally did it.

Clubs like the Broncs have 6. Pennies did 4 straight. Drags have a hundred.

I couldn't give a f**k.
Because for a long time there I was worried we'd never win one.

And now I know all I needed was one.

Seriously, another one would be nice - but it wont feel like the first.
Nowhere near it - a magical night.
In fact maybe another one takes away from that night. Maybe that's our legacy just to win it once.

I watch the boys every week. But that frustration is gone. We lose...meh.
Life goes on.
Which means I just don't have the interest to dissect it every week - and am therefore handing the chux baton on to whomsoever.

But...if it was the Amco Cup.
Different story.
It ran for about 16 years and we played in 3 finals and won it once. Not many clubs can boast that record.
That's why it's the one matters.

Fantastic post @Since 73
I can remember getting home that night in 2016 about 3am sober and the wife asking my what the hell I was doing, thought I’d be out for days bending.
Alas, it was just sweet relief, I got what I wanted and just wanted to drift into sweet slumber. Been the same since for most being in supporter semi-retirement.
For me, I love the banter here and old mates who I’ve been travelling with this club since primary and high school but overall the game for most part isn’t what it was.
Getting upset about a game we can’t control is crazy, but the club as well, for all its decent work is flailing.
It’s just a bore to me now, which is a fudking shame

I hardly watch shadow, it’s odd feeling really. Annoyed when they lose but over it within an hour. Used to ruin my weekend.
