Good player, made to look much better being outside Lyon though. Lyon could make make any winger in the comp look like quality.

Had a good year and being injury free has helped, he is a talented winger, as above yes being outside of Lyon has its advantages

Great try last night, but he's pretty average, isn't he?

At one stage last night when Manly were coming off their goal line, he managed to get in the way like a complete spastic and it lead to a turnover.

He's like Samson. Give him a shave (and put him outside of anyone other than Lyon) and what's he really got?

Nah he's at worst an above average winger. At least from the manly games I've watched this year.

Yeah, fair enough actually. I wasn't really taking into account the overall averageness of wingers (it seems) these days.

He's a good finisher but he falls into the Merritt category abit for mine (though his tries have abit higher degree of difficulty).

I think whoever wins tonight will be sending a fair bit of traffic Wolfman's way next week.

Hard to really stand out as a winger. Defence is the most important part of the game out there. In that regard, he's really good, reads the game well, scrambles well and follows his centre properly.

It seems like there are two types of wingers in the NRL, one is the smart/good defender, the other is the power runner/extra forward. These two features very rarely combine.

reckon he is a very average player, anyone couldlook good outside Lyon etc, however he had a great game last night.

You need to watch more before you comment. Some very good reads have saved Manly when they've had 3 on 1 against Williams. 2008 GF he made a couple of exceptional first half reads when he was outnumbered 3 on 1 or 2 on 1 both from kicks and through the hands. Saved an almost certain try tonight reading a Reynolds pass.

He also contributed to one Souths try by rushing in off his wing and leaving 2 players unmarked on his outside. He's a good finisher, but definitely in the Nathan Merritt category IMO.

Quite remarkable. It will go down in history that growing a beard and being a 'wolfman' gimmick got a player an Australian and NSW jumper.

I thought he deserved to represent. Used to go really good. Not quite the same now, but ever reliable.

Also was responsible for the Gordon try last week.
Good in attack, has some issues in defence.

That try was a result of Manly's up and in defense, not Williams. He had to come in because the rest of the line had. If he stayed out on his wing, there is a yawning gap for the centre to run though. Watch a replay and see where Lyon is standing.

He's in the Beau Ryan class in my opinion. Very good player with a lot of personality. Whilst he isn't in the top class of wingers in the NRL the crew of "if he didn't (blank) then no one would care about him," is completely unfair. For every winger better than him in the NRL there is more than one who is worse.
