Has anyone got the career stats on the three of them? Obvisously they'd need to cover reserve grade matches...

Who was the American NFL bloke that Warren Ryan brought in at Newcastle in 2000/01?? He only played one game on the wing against the Bulldogs from what I remember and had a shocker.

The Garrick Morgan experiment... ...sorry, with all due respect one of the worse personnel decisions on all time. I would like to think the guy who pushed the Crushers into that one is no longer working in the NRL.

John Kirwan was a bust considering the hype that came from NZ for a player who was the best at his position in RU. Certainly not deserved to be on this poll listing, though he deserves mention as I believe he was a let down after much promise from the rah rahs similar to that of bustling Garrick Morgan.

Nice poll ;-)

considering that the SQ crushers paid Garrick 200k, and i highly doubt the Tigers or Eels would have paid Clarke or Fenech even a 1/4 of that then Garrick is a clear winner

Eion Crossan came from Union as well. He hung around longer than most though.

Fenech went ok but he didn't play first grade like the other two did.

Garrick Morgan would have to be the biggest bust - all that money ($200k - I thought it was more) and two first grade games.

Fench went ok? he played how many reserve grade and wore xxxxxl larg shoulder pads.

He did go ok. He had played junior rep football apparently - for Enmore. He was never going to set the world on fire and probably knew it. He got in and had a go and he played ok. He looked bloody silly no doubt but he tackled hard and could pass the ball. Not a total bust. A bit like Michael Jordan playing baseball - he didn't reach any dizzying heights but who knows what might have happened if he stuck at it.

(In an effort to put more names out there....)

Shane Whereat? (sp) From memory a former Roosters and Parramatta Eels player who had a track background.

While he was a track "star" he did manage to play four or five seasons of first grade. Hardly a bust.

that was 1999.
he said he had played for the philadelphia eagles.
But when investigated the Eagles had NFI as to whom Greg Smith was.
