"there's no use of having a bad season unless you get something out of it".

It has been a very tough year. We have however blooded a few new guys in Quinlan and to a lesser extent Runciman. We have also signed a few good players.
Just trying to be optimistic.
On the pessimistic front we have ascertained that Price offers nothing as a 1st grade coach.

I heard them say that during the Souffs v Tigpies game, and wondered the same thing! I came up with:

1. The introduction of guys like Quinlan, Garvey and Runciman to first grade
2. The Dugan
3. The development of Stockwell, DeBelin and Friz, who are the future of our forward pack
4. Our signings for 2014
5. The Dugan
6. 1 season closer to the coaching overhaul we desperately need
7. The Dugan

At least the tigers look like a team that can actually start gelling together. We show no attacking promise whatsoever.

....on the positives, there are a few.

1. The Dugan, the Dugan, the Dugan (thanx BennyV)
2. Famous / legend Dragons retiring, Nathan Fien and Matt Cooper. Sad, but a reminder how great our Club is.
3. Some rising stars - DeBelin, Quinlan, Garvey, Runciman
4. Some trying hard and challenging themselves to get to the next Level and showing signs they can - e.g. Trent Merrin, and to the same extent (but not at the same Level of course), Daniel Vidot.
5. The Club Stalwarts who are deadset real Champions regardless of the result in any game - Jason Nightingale and Brett Morris, even combining together a few times for tries. They are the two best wingers in the comp, and I would not swap them for ANYONE.
6. Some solid signings - (but regrettably, still not quite enough to say the season has been successful as far as recruitments are concerned)
7. looking like we are squeeky clean as far as ASADA is concerned.
8. Meeting lots of new great People on this Forum (aw shucks!). I don't know how often i "LOL"'d in front of the Laptop, to the bewilderment of these German people around me - who really don't get it! Although ...whenever I Show them a Clip or two, they are in awe as to how tough our game is. They find the Greg Inglis hit on Dean Young the most hard hitting.

This is all good stuff.

I am not going to pretend anything really positive (or convincing) on any particular game. I don't think we put one complete game together in 2013, even as far as our wins are concerned. I don't think we are capable of doing so under Steve Price. It seems our Opposition brought anything but their best game to us in 2013, and so in my mind that devalues our results even further ...even our winning ones.

On the negatives... well, there is not enough storage space on the Forum Server to list all of these.

Sorry, Overall negative i know.

...Easily the worst season in my living Memory : (

Sometimes when I listen to people on the radio talk about how bad the tigers and eels are, I just want to ring up and remind them how bad Price is. However, I can't do that, because there are too many problems, and I ultimately don't know where to start, nor how to construct a cohesive argument with all that negative content off the cuff! However, the fact Ivan Cleary can make a team of no names challenge for a finals spot, really manifests how bad Price is at his job.

I was with my dad (a souths fan) at the tigers game, and he was kind of trying to defend price, saying, " look at the players you have. Apart from Dugan and Merrin, who are injured anyway, you have no players who can make an impact. Morris is too far away from the action to have a big influence". I said, yes you are partly right. But the tigers, who are just as a big of a rabble as us squad wise, if not worse, are giving us a bloody whipping. A good coach can at least make their players stick to an effective game plan like Ivan Cleary can. He just nodded his head and said "...true...".

The difference is that at Penrith you have a stack of players that are playing for their spots and in many cases their future. All we have are a stack of players that have nothing to play for, don't care, are either injured or on their way out.

dont worry i am sure 2014 will be another rebuilding season... after Price continues to develop our potent attack during the off season..

It all came down to the 2002 charity shield. Mum's a saints fan, dad's a souths fan. They made me make the ultimate choice (I hadn't really even heard of South Sydney). The rest is history.

Whats the point of having 2 bad seasons and then keep the same fundamental elements for the 3rd consecutive season??

By eliminating all the negative elements such as 1. Sowie 2. Steve Folks. 3. Samoa coaching distraction Then realising it was nothing to do with the main problem being stuck with a half wit as our half price head coach.
