Things to be thankful for...

Are you glad Macca has decided not to hold talent back anymore by going to the ESL?

do provide a specific memory, you seem quite the boogs fan

Source: nrl.com.au

Bulgarelli was among the top tacklers in:
Round 2 - Penrith
Round10 - Tigers
Round 11 - Storm
Round 15 - Bulldogs
Round 16 - Broncos
Round 17 - Tigers
Round 22 - Knights

Bulgarelli was among the top offloads in:
Round 2 - Penrith
Round 7 - Knights
Round 8 - Roosters
Round 9 - Broncos
Round 10 - Tigers
Round 22 - Knights

Going head to head with Monoghan for example, Bulgarelli outshines him in offloads, tackles, try assists. They are similar in line breaks, hitups, metres gained, errors and mistackles when taking into account total games played. Source: www.nrl.com (player stats).

Boogas it's a shame the Raider's can't appreciate you like I do!!

Prelim final 2003: Raiders V Warriors, at 16 all McLinden put in a little grubber behind the line for Bulgarelli, for anyone else collecting the ball and planting it on the deck to win the game was mear formality

The Raiders were already behind on the scoreboard for a reason prior to that drop ball by Bulgarelli. Perhaps if he didn't put himself in a position to come so close to catching that ball you would have all forgotten it by now and you'd be blaming the other players who let in tries at the other end of the field. The game lasts for 80 minutes guys, just remember that.

if if's and buts were candy and nuts, geraldo
he did get close enough to score, he did bomb it in fantastic fashion, he did cost us that final. Sadly that is what he will be remember for.

Nah, I think Geraldo is right - you could blame several other players for crucial mistakes at crucial times. The game was lost by the team. But you keep tellin yourselves whatever you need to fellas. Remember, he was given Rookie of the Year after that season and Elliott, McLinden and several players acknowledged that anyone could have dropped the ball at a high pressure time like that and many of them have!! (The McLinden comments were in an edition of Rugby League Week in 2003).

Could have but they didnt, Boogs did, all im saying is weather it be rightly or wrongly, in 10 years time when a raiders fan mentions Jason Bulgarelli those who saw it will remember that event. That is the fact of the matter

Btw geraldo, i'm impressed with the stats and it either proves that monoghan was massively overrated in 2004 or Bulgarelli severely underrated. I bet their pay cheques weren't so similar, oh that's right, Bulgarelli doesnt get paid!!

It's funny how they haven't mentioned that in all the recent press about Bulgarelli. Many of the media reports have mentioned the Rookie of the year thing when they took about his past career....nothing about the drop ball? Perhaps this forum is an exception but from what I gather this forum is somewhat detached from the real world.

Just think, one more offload in this game, and Robbo is in under the posts and there is no stopping us from winning that game....

You never know from there. The raiders have beaten the defending premiers on tv, and it may have laid the platform for the rest of the season.

yeah good point. i think that the controversial sacking of Bulgarelli will take the place of that controversial dropped ball. I'm weighing it up and I'm thinking the controversial sacking will be much more memorable. Especially if he turns out to be wronged.

Well said.

The tragedy is Lolesi was right there to put it down if Boogas had left the ball alone. Considering Macca and Lolesi had the good combo going with the grubbers, this is what should have happened. Boogas, IMO, was in the way in this move.

Agreed about the Rd 2 'pass that never was'.... for me Boogas will always be the ultimate butcherer of tries.

Boogs and Macca ruined that game. Boogs no pass was the worst decision id seen for some time, but macca threw the ball that Amos intercepted then he fell off the tackle for the Waterhouse try.

Geraldo you still lack the memory talent im after. Please read other peoples memories, like an awesome try or something.

I nearly feel asleep when you were on about stats. Boogs wouldnt want in on your statsfest, he would enjoy a nice positive memory/story. like a match winning try at manly

Boogs was crap, waste of time in first grade, he played some good games 2003 but thats it.

He would drop the ball, bad defence reads, fitness questionable all throughout 2004, he is a Qld cup quality player

lol weird how almost half the people here are happy that macca left...yet during the season the man was like a god...people made him look as though he just walked on water.

Im not happy about him leaving, he had alot of potential, just wish he was coached better and had a decent half next to him.
