I'm going to scope creep the thread a little

Did anyone watch Eels/Tigers yesterday? FMD Chris Butler wins the idiot of the round award for referees this week. He made 3 screaming howlers with the worst being the drop out call after Nofaluma field a kick and it was ruled he grounded it.

His blatant favouritism towards the Eels was a disgrace and makes the Tigers win more meritorious IMO.

I can't stand that guy, he looks like a real f**kwit.

I'd actually love to see how many of these current whistleblowers have actually played the game. Apart from Henry, who has retired, how many others played even lower grades or park football?

couldn’t agree more.. the funny thing is after the replay of it not much was said in the commentary.. then I think off the next set the tigers got a controversial decision go their way to get them the ball back and the commentary team was in full swing about how lucky the tigers were. Uhhh they should have had the ball to begin with.

I think 2 worse the one where he said Laurie knocked on bomb he didn't touch it, and Butler was right there, lucky they challenged.
2 minutes from end Tigers should have had penalty and would have kicked goal James Roberts grabbed before he received pass

Still pissed about this. Decisions are reactionary these days. Oops he got hurt, must be the tacklers fault, lets try and find something... What I want to know is who's decision was it? The ref or the bunker?
The main issue was who was tackled. Pap struggled last year after high shots, so he is on the protected species list.

Maybe Weapon, it's already a joke anyway. Way over the top and dumb merkints ignore how detrimental it is for the sport.

Ennis must win the most associated player to still existing clubs:
Newcastle, St. George, Brisbane, Canterbury, Cronulla, Canberra and Parramatta.
Noddy: Newcastle, Hunter, Melbourne, Northern Eagles, Cronulla, Canterbury, West's..

Anyway, whoever advised Ennis to start that ridiculous yelling in commentary should lose their job. I've started changing channels if he's on, and it's available, otherwise it's sound off.

He's a bit of a knob. You can how he pisses people off when he's on a talkie show. Sunday ticket, Super Saturday etc.

I was out one night a few years back with some friends. They brought along one of their friends, who just happened to be a former CEO of the NRL. He and I started chatting over a beer and he asked who I went for, when I told him the Sharks the very first thing he said to me as I said it was "what do you think of Ennis?". I told I thought he was great. He replied "he is by far the most hated person in the NRL". I was shocked, but he went on to back up his claim with stories of why.
I still said I like him haha.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to meet your heroes in person. I'm still very happy idolizing our premiership 9 from this side of the picture box.

Met him twice. Don’t think you could meet a nicer bloke. That was my impression anyway. His commentating is becoming more annoying by the week though

I love The Menace. That opening tackle in the greatest game of RL ever was something I will never forget.

The deliberate swinging arm to the head of McLean, sitting him on his arse, was beautiful, just beautiful.

Cannot beat the Viking Clap moment - absolute classic!

Also - hugging the ball boys after the GF - fantastic!
