This Sunday's viewing in Queensland

This is what we in Queensland have to look forward to in the way of Rugby League viewing on Sunday-

2:30pm Wests Tigers vs Brisbane live Fox Sports
4pm Wests Tigers vs Brisbane delayed Channel Nine
8:30pm Storm vs Dragons delayed Fox Sports
10pm Warriors vs Panthers delayed Fox Sports

This is pretty disappointing. I won't be able to watch my team's game until 5 and half hours after it's been played, and it's even worse for fans of the warriors or panthers, forced to wait 8 hours after kick-off to get to see it. I doubt Tigers vs Broncos is a game many people are keenly anticipating and yet it's getting coverage on two different channels, one after the other. And two attractive matches are relegated to being broadcast on massive delays.

Yep its pathetic.. As if channel 9 dont know that half of brisbane dont even like the broncos.. Lucky i live 2 hrs north of brisbane and i dont get their rediculous telecast.

Channel 9 is a sponsor of the Broncos & they have a contract with the Broncos that they have to show the Sunday games that the Broncos play.

Anywhere outside the brisbane telecast wont get the games they televise.. So i get the normal sunday footy game that NSW gets.

Whats going on with the Channel 9 game in Syndey/NSW?

Earlier in the week it was listed as the Storm v Dragons game, but watching the Footy Show last night they said they are showing the Panther v Warriors game :?

I have to drive down to the Gold Coast to watch the game. If people in Brisbane want to watch the Broncos match they can go to a pub at 2:30.

There are a lot of Rugby League fans in Brisbane who don't like the Broncos. Most Rugby League fans would watch the football regardless of who plays. Even more if it's a top class game. Brisbane v Wests isn't a top class game.

Quite an advantage the Broncos have over the clubs here. ( not there own doing)
The broncos game is always played on 9.
My team competes with all the others for air time.
Still there is a push for more NSW teams :?

I only wish that WIN TV would show the Raiders every week in exactly the same fashion, but they say it costs too much. Presumably the extra cost is worth the extra ratings for Channel 9 Brisbane.

Channel 9 in Sydney show matches like Brisbane v Warriors last Sunday. No Sydney side in that match. So it tells you one of two things - People in Brisbane are hyprocrits because they keep claiming Channel 9 Sydney are biased towards Sydney sides and complain about it by saying they shouldn't be, when they want Channel 9 Brisbane to be biased towards the Broncos. If not that then Channel 9 don't do what the public want. Last year the highest rating Sunday game in Brisbane did not involve the Broncos. Remember it's the QLD fans that want Channel 9 to spread the fta games around all clubs, no matter who is playing and how well it rates, complaining about no North QLD, etc.

It gives some of their staff something to do, when some of them like Gary Belcher do nothing else. So Channel 9 is paying them, so they may as well do something.

How am I supposed to know? I don't live in Newcastle.

All I know is Northern QLD doesn't show the North QLD games, and Canberra doesn't show the Canberra matches.
