This weeks selections mistakes

Simmons.
Vagana is improving every week & is approaching a 375k player. But where the Fugg was simmons when Vags made those breaks. Simmons has no idea how to position himself or how to pre-empt a break & get with the play. If Merrit was there today, we score 3-4 more tires.

Mellars
1 minute after he entered the game, brisbane score the game breaker. He wasnt involved but did he cause confusion in the line? What did he offer as an 18 minute player? Why wasnt Doom selected?

Mellor
Has to be taken out of the centres & used as utility off bench. So many dropped balls & missed tackles. Not all his fault but he is off the pace.
It seems it now proven that left centre is not a player problem but a coaching/tactic/style problem with a good player like Mellor making exactly the same errors as the much maligned McGoldy.

I didnt think simmons played too badly. made some good tackles. though a lot of missed oppertunities because of his positioning, like you said BTR.

The biggest mistake for me was the game time ( or lack of ) for Williams.

Don't think Simmons played bad..
Covell was worse..
Mellor was probably the player that cost us a bit.. When he wasn't dropping the ball he was missing tackles..

and again Tye, i can only think of once where Peach did that. he certainly makes up for it with the rest of his game.

If now is'nt a good time to bring up a younger fella in the centres like Beau Scott or Goodwin then I dont know when is.:? We dont have many more options. I agree with Reefy that Mellor should be used on the bench.

What is the purpose of having Hilder in that team when he plays about 30 fuggen minutes? I dont think he even slotted into the backrow at all. Galloway didnt get enough game time either.

It's not that Simmons played badly, he doesn't get involved enough for that. It's more that he has no clue whatsoever about a winger's positional play in attack. It's not just tonight either, it's been commented on here before. He seems to be chained to the fence.

Peachey was f**king brilliant. He made that error and corrected with a genius try only he would of scored. That makes that even. Assess the rest of his game after that. Pure genius.

I agree with Lolesi on Williams as well. He needs far more game time. He's a consistent metre maker and when he's on there the ruck area is far less vulnerable.

Galloway continues to improve, he was handful tonight and took on Webcke often coming out on top.

Kimmorley is clearly a passenger.

Kimmorley was woeful today. And Covell, what the fugg does Merritt have to do to get into the top grade? He was slotting them from the sideline all yesterday at Henson, so you can't even argue that Covell is there for his kicking! How many of the breaks we made today could have been finished off by Merritt, instead of slow arse Covell? We missed Nuts today, there's no denying that, but it doesn't mean that Gallen and Bailey can use this as an excuse to play like women. Selection shake up is needed, the sooner the better, cause if we get done by the rabbits, we may as well give the fugg up now!

Nearly all the breaks were on the right. Why would Covell be backing up there? Where was the Golden Child?

I thought Simmons had an excellent game to start with, but went completely missing when it was his turn to support another. He plays well as an individual (some of his kick returns, dummy half runs, runs down the wing) but as soon as he is needed from a Vagana break or a Peachey offload, he's not there.

I've been calling for Mellor's sacking for aeons now, but unfortunately I can't see it happening. He's given us one good performance all year, and has been a major cause of any loss that he played in. He's stupid, slow, has no lateral movement, cannot catch and pass, is good for six errors a game, misses tackles all over the place by rushing out of the line, or letting the bloke run past him. McGoldrick may not have shown much in his time in the grade, but f**k me, he didn't mess up as much as Mellor does. Goldy = great hands, class, speed, agility, intelligence and talk. We need a guy like this on the field. On top of all this, Covell gets utilised which at the moment isn't happening.

Mellars went okay coming off the bench, but he might as well not have been there and had somebody with a bit of fire like Dumas on the field. Doom has proved himself, Mellars hasn't and won't. What's Doom done to deserve this average treatment by the coaching staff? Besides shoplifting...

Peach had a blinder...ignore the few mistakes he made and it was a man of the match performance. His defence, however, worried me. A terrible defensive attempt on Tonie Carroll and several bad attempts on Hodges. Made up for it with sheer brilliance.

Hilder was quiet, but he's only just come back. We all know he's nowhere near as good a hooker as he is as a backrower...unfortunately we have superb endurance in the backrow with Bails and Gallen. The only bloke in our pack that needs to be interchanged is Stevo, considering Nutts is good for 70 or so minutes.

Sullivan is becoming a liability. Release him now and give Kingston a go...at least he's shown loyalty. Sullivan sh*ts me off...the club gives him money for his gambling problems, he gets boatloads of cash from Channel Nine and the rags and he asks for a release so he can hunt money in England. That's not good for team morale...if he was playing for Brisbane, he'd be sacked to reggies with the snap of a finger.

Yes you fool, did you see that in the 69th minute he tried to dive on the ball in-goal but f**ked it up royal, hodges nearly scored then covell just regathered. This gave them a dropout. now if covel had a brain he would of waited for the ball to bounce grab it and try to beat the 1 defender chasing which he should be able to do because he is a back who can step. with this dropout the broncos scored which led to us dying i the ass, also his goal kicking is shocking at the moment. Drop him immiediatly, i thought he would be safer than merrit but he is just sh*t. Btw merrit can also kick goals which eliminates covels best weapon. Lift your game or f**k off to premier league. many players today showed attacking ability but just couldnt finish it off, covell did nothin at all.

he stuffed up once in the ingoal, then quickly fixed it. he missed one goal from the side-line, and also got one from there.

Mellars is huge lanky bloke, he could be like SBW without the injuries. I havent seen him play before this game. Does he have any skills. Is he fast, good step. Anyone help me here?, could he play centre where mellor is?
