God, Simmons bashing Reefy, hes proven himself countless times, your just making yourself look like a fool. Its quite obvious what you are doing to, no threads from you in the past like 10 weeks and as soon as he ha ONE bad game, your on here berating him. On your support idea with Vagana, I do recall on one occasion of the two major breaks by vagana that Simmons was about, the ball just didnt go to hand which often does happen in situations like that. I also think it would be that unwise to drop Simmons who has a good combination with Vagana, especially in defence. From the Broncos game as well, despite being not his best, he still showed how dangerous he can be. He made one 30 metre break and looked on numerous occasions to break free on the kick return. Simply put, placing that loss on Simmons alone is ridiculous. Personally, I look to Mellor, he made some basic errors yesterday which put more pressure on us and offered minimal in attack - I say give Mellars a go!!!!!

i think the radio commentators jinxed simmons tdoay. they were giving him a bit of a rev up on how good and quick he is...

I noticed that they were giving Simmons massive raps aswell.. Saying that he is the quickest player in the comp etc.. He is quick, but nowhere near the quickest in the comp..

AND this is not to mention that the entire team made errors. For example, 'king' Bailey's pass in our own half, wtf was going on their, over Simmons' head, or was that Simmons fault!?!?! He had Vagana out there in some space finally, and he cuts him out to pass to Simmons. It would have been a nothing play if it had stuck and if it didnt would have either went out (like it did) or got interecepted and try time!

That Bailey pass was a shocker and I think that Brisbane scored not long after that. Bailey seemed to spend a lot of time out in the backs, always a worry as far as I'm concerned.

The big problem in my book was that, in the first half, we didn't capitalise on all the opportunities that we had. A few poor last play options, particularly on kicks, when through the hands may have reaped dividends. Handling errors were few and pretty even. In the second half though, different story, we made a lot of handling errors in our own half and early in the tackle count. Brisbane made very few and even less in their own defensive zone. As such, we had few repeat sets in attack, while we had to do a lot of defending in our own half.

I thought that Carroll, Webcke and Hodges were outstanding for the Broncos. As much as I can't stand Hodges, when he is on his game he is a real attacking weapon. I'm still annoyed that Carroll was even playing, as everyone knew he was the TBA, but them's the breaks and we were beaten by a better team on the day. I must say that some of our defence was outstanding. Apart from the early error, Peach had a pearler and his one on one tackle of Karmichael Hunt in the second half exemplified that.

Although a lot of the blame is being placed on Mellor and the wingers, I thought that Raper's use of the interchange bench was pretty ordinary. Mellars should have had more game time and I think he needs to study the way that Wayne Bennett uses his bench. Much more effective and we seemed to have fresh players charging at us all day.

I'll watch the game again on t.v although out at the ground it seemed obvious we had little options in attack, our forwards got hammered but they stood up well and by the 60th minute they were farged.

When we did get on a roll we blew it by poor reads and positional play.. oh and lots of dropped ball.

I had no problem with Simmo's game regarding Vagana's breaks, he seemed to chink back on the inside alot.. or so it seemed out there.Covell is too slow and will get targeted down his wing if they do thier homework,I think Merrit needs to be given a chance if he's doing the job in PL. Kimmoreley's kicking game was poor (again).

Yeah Mellor had a poor game and Im sure he would admit to that, but straight away we are calling for his head? Ridiculous. Don't give me the nightmares of Mcgoldrick coming back, Mellor has been very important this year.

Simmo played a good game and yeah a couple times he wasn't in the right position in support, the kid is still young, is an up and coming star of the club and theres a band wagon to sack him? What next.

Kimmorley isn't in great form at the moment and that is definately hurting us to a certain degree, Dykes is playing great and when Noddy gets back 2 his best we will be carving teams up again. There's more positives than negatives to take out of yesterdays game and if it wasn't for a couple of important mistakes early in the 2nd half in Brisbane's half it could of been a very different result.

Excellent games from Maiava, Stevo, Vagana, Bailey and Peachey (apart from the first 3 mins..)

The heads should be up and we will be there deep into September.

8 Planned, 4 spare in case of injury, game dynamics etc

Nutley, Bailey and Gallen being able to go more time (than your average forward) provides this scope.

Drop him immiediatly, i thought he would be safer than merrit but he is just sh*t. Btw merrit can also kick goals which eliminates covels best weapon. Lift your game or f**k off to premier league. many players today showed attacking ability but just couldnt finish it off, covell did nothin at all.

Who's the fool now.
According to you pointer 2 weeks ago Covell was a legend and Merritt was a crap player. Are you this week jumping on the Merritt bandwagon.

Who's it gonna be next week?

We lack speed.

Vag couldn't go all the way but he could break the line

Simmo's still learning but we really need his speed. Someone will put a rocket up him about support. I think he was hammered early about defence and is now over compensating. Young bloke -experience will strike a balance.

Skywalker isn't fast enough but does think a good game for the most part.

peach isn't fast enough but he is Peach and we need that magic.

Mellor is the problem- no SPEED. forget goldy he's gone. we need the fastest young centre in the club to get exposure.

Why has everyone dropped Galloway- big mistake.

Those who believe Raper is a shyte coach despite the club being currently in 2nd place and almost guarranteed a finals birth:

You should change that quote idiot. We have dropped another game and are no longer 2nd place and are sliding down the table

Mate where did i say he was a legend i said he was probably a safer option because of his size and this is right. Now if what Captn Jack sayes about the side where covel is never getting the ball, what is the point anyways of merrit in the team. They wont even use him. BTW most of what is said yesterday was from emotin of us losing.
Covel only made one critical mistake which later led to a try, and my main argument was that he never does anything in attack, but if hew never gets the ball how can he. So my main argument is void.
I would like to see this post also Blue boat boy that i claimed that covel was a legend and merrit was a crap player.
And i am not jumping on the bandwagon i still think merrit is not the player for the job. We should only have one real attacking winger which is simmonds. Give merrit a go and see if he proves me wrong. And yes i hope if he gets the chance he proves me wrong and shows how good he can be.

True Ima, it's getting a little dire actually. two games V souths and KNights ahead now become MUST WINS. if we don't get 4 pts from those two clashes we will soon find ourselves at the bottom of a bunch of teams on 22 or higher. here it is with those teams two opponants for next 2 rounds :-

Broncos 28 ( Bye. Storm)

Eels 24 ( Dragons, Raiders)

Nth QLD 22 ( knights, rabbits)
Manly 22 ( panthers, Dragons)
SHARKS 22 ( rabbits, knights)

Storm 20 ( raiders, Broncos)
Drag'ins 20 ( Eels, Manly)
Roosters 20 ( Tigers, Warriors)
Raiders 20 ( Storm, Eels)

Tigers 18 ( Roosters, Bye)

Bulldogs 17 ( Warriors, panthers)

It's extremely important as we are the luckiest there with the draw, along with the cowboys. Both clubs MUST get 4 pts from those games, but its by no means certain they will. Most of the other clubs play among themslves, which basically means very few of those around us, on 24, 22 or 20 will remain on those pts tallies. Infact to win both our next games will probably only see us hold Our position.

Things may well look like this if we win our next two and things go to plan in other games ( as best as one can work it out)

Broncos 32 pts

Eels 26 pts
Cowboys 26pts
SHARKS 26pts

manly 24 pts
Dragons 24 pts
Roosters 24 pts

Raiders 22 pts
Storm 22 pts

Bulldogs 21 pts
Tigers 20 pts

BEST case I can work out is to be 4th ( equal 2nd on comp points but we must resign ourselves to the fact that our for and against will leave us behind any team we draw with on pts).

If we drop ONE of the following two matches, we go go to 24 pts which would see manly, the dragins and roosters all overtake us and shuffle us back to 7th and in a torrid battle for 7th and 8th place on the ladder with teams like the storm, raiders, bulldogs and tigers.

MUST win the next two, MUST win.

Next weekend, our perfect round as far as I can see is this :-

We beat the bunnies.

Dragins beat the eels

raiders beat the storm

penrith beat the eagles

warriors beat the dogs

tiges beat the roosters

knights beat the cowboys !

That would be awesome !

OPfcourse there will be no changes.
& dont understand why anybody would say that blaming the wingers & centres for the loss was weird. That in itself is weird. Weirder than weird!!!

Mellor & simmons together accounted for 10 mistakes!
that is the only statistical area, besides possession, that we lost. & that is because one leads to the other.
simmons was absolutely woeful.

If I'm not mistaken simmons had 17 hit ups for 162M, thats better than any of our forwards. he also had a line break, scored a try, and made a try saving tackle.

Give the guy a break FFS.

and knocked down a pass that would have lead to a try, when left with a two man overlap
