Class player...suffered from being chronically over hyped by the media and was subsequently overrated. Often tried to too hard and went missing a little in big Dragons games. Injuries really messed with him as well...

As a kid he was my favourite footy player. He is a great bloke as well here's an example why. One time after a SOO game he was taken to Prince Of wales hospital. My mother happened to diagnose his injury and she mentioned that i was a dragons fan. Trent took the time to call me and thank me for supporting the dragons... Told me to keep on cheering them no matter what. As a kid i thought that was the best thing that had ever happened to me.

Nice story. Trent Barrett was my favorite player after Mundine left he gave it everything he had. Bad kicking game yes but a true match winner on his day.

Great player that made very few mistakes, he should have finished his career at the Dragons. He picked the wrong time to leave and the wrong team to return to at the time.

Remember watching him play his first game against the premiers Manly. His ball playing was immense, he put 3 steelers players through for tries with beautiful passes in the first half alone.

I agree his ball running did become his best attribute later in his career.
