SEA EAGLES JOIN THE NAVY FOR THREE DAYS OF TORTURE
The Manly Sea Eagles continued its highly professional and tough approach to the 2004 season with a three day live in training camp with the Australian Navy at HMAS Penguin at Balmoral.

Coach Des Hasler organised the camp and is delighted at the first half of the program.

"It's tough and it is hurting them but it will do enormous good for us when the going gets tough in a tight match next season.

"We are learning so much about each other - players are helping each other through this.

"I'm delighted at the attitude of the players so far,"Hasler said.

After a very strenous day one on Monday the players were up at 4 a.m. on Tuesday and driven to Palm Beach for a two hour running session on wet sand and the notorious Palm Beach sand hills.

For new buys Shane Dunley and Mark Lennon it was particularly tough.

Both arrived from overseas last week and the navy base camp was their introduction to the new look Sea Eagles under Des Hasler.

Veteran Sea Eagle and skipper Steve Menzies applauded the decision to go into the camp.

"Last night every player had to give a talk on why they want to be a Sea Eagle and it was impressive stuff,"Menzies said.

Great stuff, Dessie will instill some pride and passion into the lads for the team and the jersey.....and they'll be as fit as a fiddle for the start of the season!
