Roosters lose Anthony Minichiello, Sonny Bill Williams, Roger Tuivasa Sheck, James Maloney, Frank Paul Nuuausala, Dan Mortimer, Luke O'Donnell.

That's 7 from our grand final 17. So two years later we've lost 40% of that team.

You tried to keep RTS though, he didn't leave cause of money. I think you tried to convince Sonny to stay aswell. Maloney and FPN had in demand young guns coming up behind them so it was one or the other, same for Mini really. Mortimer and LOD wow that's would be heaps of dollars you were forced to shed :sarcasm:.

lolwot Warriors are paying RTS more than double what we offered. He left purely because of money.

RTS left because he is getting paid double the amount of cash.

Sonny was always only going to stay for a year or two, if he stayed we don't re-sign Tupou, Guerra, SKD. He always going to go.

We let other players go because we had younger, cheaper and better players, oh no why would we do such a thing?

Mortimer and LOD were players we let go, not everyone you let go has to be a mega star. Actually letting the bit players go is usually what happens.

My point is you could of kept that 2013 side together for as long as you wanted if Sonny and RTS wanted to stay. If you didn't have Hastings Maloney would of been re-signed probably and same for Evans/FPN, you just said it yourself you let players go as you had higher potential guys coming up behind them, you didn't loose them.

RTS is really the only player you have lost cause of money if that is true what you say.

So you're bagging our club for good cap management, then?

All these players you have been forced to shed yet Politis still thinks you could afford Hayne if things don't work out there.

http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl...-of-jarryd-hayne/story-e6frf3vu-1227506440741

From the article:

Politis confirmed to Roosters Radio that speculation he was grooming Hayne to sign with his club should his NFL journey end prematurely was accurate; admitting he would have jumped at the chance to secure one of the game’s biggest signatures.
“It would be a good one to make a reality,” Politis said of potentially making Hayne a Rooster"

That's a mill atleast you could just find room for next year according to the guy in charge. It so obvious the roosters spend more than most clubs on their roster.

Someone spends more on the Roosters roster but it's not the Roosters.

No we couldn't have, contrary to popular belief we're not over the cap. If Sonny stayed we don't re-sign half our side. This is good cap management, we lost our superstar but used his money to upgrade our existing squad. To help ease cap pressure we let go FPN etc. so younger, cheaper, better players like SST could come through.

Surely if we're so over the cap we would have kept Maloney so Hastings could develop more and RTS so Mitchell could also develop.

Apparently even when we lose players now it's because we don't want them anymore and not because of the cap.

Seriously how deluded can you be?

Where I have bagged them here? ANd good cap management? LOL u mean more TPA than any club besides maybe Brisbane. Its not bagging them to point that out.

If they can do it within the rules what's the problem? If the rules are the issue change them.

The original point made was that we didnt lose any players from 2013, we gained more.

We pointed out that is false.

Then you said basically 'yeah but, only because Reasons'

Well yes, of course there were reasons, every premiership winning side has reasons for letting players go otherwise they wouldnt.

If money was no issue we definitely would have kept Maloney + RTS, and probably FPN. SBW and Mini and a few others leaving has allowed us to retain a good chunk of the squad a year or two longer without having to shed any other major players.

That's kind of what I was thinking, im not saying they are cheating. TBH I wish my club had the ability to do it. It just shits me these roosters fans acting like they are so much better at managing their cap, its pretty easy when you have a more money available than most clubs.

So it's a complaint? It's still within the rules

I never said it was. Its more like a jealous whinge/stir up. You mention this subject and u get 15 upset roosters fans in here talking about cap management and how they lost Daniel Mortimer and Luke Odonnel!

Every team has player movement every year. The roosters though is generally in their favour or has been their decision. Usually you only lose a player when you have a better/higher potential player coming through behind them. They are smart in the way they run it no doubt, but they also have a lot less pressure on their cap than a lot of clubs because of their TPA.
