Three minor premierships in a row

technically it is the last back to back premierships, otherwise broncos have 5 premierships, instead of 6

I think its more that setting records like these isn't as impressive when you only beat half the comp to do it.

If you can't win it when most of your team are origin and/or international rep players, you're doing something wrong.

Minor premiers of half a comp doesn't really count for much. I think there's little doubt Brisbane would have topped the ladder in a combined comp.

Counts as much as the Bronocs 1997 GF win does. As to what would have happened had Brisbane been in the comp we will never know.

Nobody considers 97-98 as the last back to back premiership, so its fair to say Manly's 3 minors in a row falls into the same boat.

Brisbane doesn't count because they chose to play in a reserve grade quality comp where Cronulla was the only valid competition.

Manly stayed in first grade so counts.

Roosters lose Anthony Minichiello, Sonny Bill Williams, Roger Tuivasa Sheck, James Maloney, Frank Paul Nuuausala, Dan Mortimer, Luke O'Donnell.

That's 7 from our grand final 17. So two years later we've lost 40% of that team.

Fantastic achievement by the best team in the Comp.

It's probably safe to say they've got the best players, but whether they are the best team or not will be determined about a month from now, if they make it that far.

Roosters lose Anthony Minichiello, Sonny Bill Williams, Roger Tuivasa Sheck, James Maloney, Frank Paul Nuuausala, Dan Mortimer, Luke O'Donnell.

Are you suggesting RTS and Maloney won't be playing in the semi final next week? Or are you counting players likely to be rested tonight now that the minor is wrapped up?

Umm, you do know RTS and Maloney are at the Roosters until the end of this season and have not left yet?

By 2016 we will have lost 40% of our GF team, that's pretty normal, and not much better then any other premiership winning side.

Good cap management allowed us to retain the bulk of the side until now.
