i think its a smart move bringing cronk in. he wont get a training run, and he is familiar with australia's calls from the last test. prince, who has probably been the best player in the nrl this year wouldnt have time to learn the moves and game plan. its a no brainer really.

there's also the fact he plays with 6 members of the team week in and week out so they know his game inside and out.

What rubbish. Ronald McDonald could play halfback and they'll still win.

Slap in the face for Prince. Selection at Test and State level continues to be a mates club.

There are people in here who have been shown reasons why Scott Prince wasn't chosen either try to see it or shut up!

Put on your thinking cap for just a tiny second!
Thurston(who has been training all week with the squad) has rolled his ankle 24 hours before kick off.

Who do you call up?
The player who played for Australia three years ago who would have no combination at all with the fullback, the hooker and the halves partner.

Or do you call someone up who's a team mate for a number of players in the team, has played with the 5/8 at international level before and been very successful?

As it is,Cronk should have been in the team anyway - He is a solid and trustworthy halfback.

At what point was Cooper Cronk ever involved with Ricky Stuart?

If you put Scott Prince in the Sharks side this weekend, it would be a disaster, because he doesn't have any combinations with players, doesn't know what his role would be etc etc. No different for the national side.

This was a no brainer call up IF Thurston wasn't able to play.

Cooper Cronk was the incumbent and with such a short preparation, he would of slotted in a lot easier than the form half in Prince given Smith, Slater, Inglis and co are in the side.

There was no "farce", no "political agenda", no "pro Storm" BS here. It was the right move when all things are considered.

In the end, Thurston is playing and he will play well as he always does in a rep jersey.
