Do you Storm supporters care if AFL supporters get in to the game cheaper if they have paid for the AFL GF?

I mean looking at the bigger picture, would you guys really mind that much if they got a discount, and could potentially become fans of your team?
wouldn't care if it helped fill the joint

I could not care less if AFL GF ticket holders got in cheaper. I think it would be worth it to see the stadium close to capacity!

Not at all, especially the lengths some of the moron Cats and Saints fans (can you tell I'm bitter and twisted?) would have gone to get a GF ticket when approximately 70% of each clubs members will not be able to get in, without scalping...or buying an AFL endorsed legalised scalped ticket for $1300.

lol

The AFL fans amuse me ... There is nothing stopping any of them buying a premium membership which gaurentees GF entry ... They don't, then sook when they miss out. Serves them right if you ask me.

Good to see most of the intelligent Storm fans on the board would be for a cheaper ticket scenario. Shame the NRL didn't think of it.

As for ticket sales - I thought I read somewhere that level 2 was entirely sold? That would definitly suggest to me a > 30k crowd

I myself had guaranteed entry if Collingwood had of made the Grand Final...however to be guaranteed entry to the GF if you were a Collingwood member, you had to spend over $800 at the start of the season, and then still spend the money appropriately in each finals week. Plus if you wanted to go to a non-Melbourne game, you don't even get in free for that. (I went to two myself)

Doesn't that all depend on the season ticket holders at docklands turning up? which is about half the second level? Think thats the way it use to be but not sure

Acually there is something stopping people buying a premium membership, at Geelong there is a waiting list to get into one as it is capped.

If you are a West Coast or Adealide supporter there is even a waiting list just for the right to buy a membership, let alone any type of premium membership.

No. Do you just really have to infest every single thread about Melbourne RL with your ridiculously paranoid, petty, jealous bullsh*t re: The AFLbeing bigger in Melbourne than your niche market club?

Seriously, deal with the fact you barrack for a tiny club.

The Grand Final finishes a full 2.5 hours prior to kick off in the Storm final. If they draw a sh*tty crowd, it's because the Storm simply couldn't
attract people, it will have nothing to do with the AFL game. Fact.

Personally, I think the crowd will outstrip the last GFQ two years ago, but hey, having a little faith obviously is a bad thing when you can simply pre-emptively make excuses instead

Seriously if you have a problem with my posts, then don't read ffs.

No problems at all. I think its a great idea and wish it could have been arranged during the past 2 weeks.

Here's hoping for a 30,000 attendance, its possible in this mad sports town.

I ran into a fella who plays in a band i watch failry often at Olympic at a Storm game last year with his sons after he finished at the MCG. He's a mad keen Woods man and we talked about memberships and he pays over $700 for his and he doesn't even get guaranteed a ticket for some games.

If I was forking out that much I'd be wanting a seat at every game too! Obviously finals are a different kettle of fish but during the regular season it's a given, in my mind, that a member get a ticket/reserved seat for every home game.

Not far off what I spend at Richmond. ($730)

The AFL counts these seats as sold, regardless of actual attendance. Not sure if the Storm did on Sat night. The crowd certainly felt like what was announced so i have some doubts on no show stadium members being counted tbh

Somehow my heart doesn't bleed for bandwagon jumping scumbags

I bet you Geelong's premium categories weren't sold out 4 years ago...

It's a discussion forum, if you're so thin skinned and cannot cop criticism of your rank stupidity, then don't post.

27k - Now I don't know the deal re: Stadium members were they or not counted.

Less than I was expecting, but there was a mitigating factor outside of the GF that will have impacted the crowd - the weather. It was a literally disgusting day here on Saturday and Saturday night was even worse. It would have stopped familes from attending somewhat.

I'll concede now the GF may have had some *minor* impact on the crowd, but also factoring in the poor weatherm 27k is still an excellent turnout imo for a developing market.

In hindsight was playing on GF day a mistake? Not at all.

The fact that a RL GFQ rated higher down here than the AFL GF did in Sydney also points to the game being a success for RL

The GF will blow the titties off the AFL GF next week when national numbers are compared.
