as per usual for Int RL the marketing is atrocious and the fans not interested. Would love to know how the Socceroos and Wallabies achieve what they do whilst we struggle so much for Int recognition.

I think you all shouldn;t get ahead of yourself. A lot of people are probably still not aware of the fact that the games are on next week. We can;t really afford to break the bank promoting games, when at the end of the day we're looking to secure the long term life of the internatinal game...

Today's crowd at Mt Smart was great. The game was good & this will have an indirect flow onto the other games. The final wilkl be sold out or close to is as people get upto speed.

Now that the Comm Games is over, the RL machine should go into overddrive. Also, everyone has a repsonsibility to promote the game.. Tell your mates to watch it on TV etc..

I'm a massive league fan, but I'd forgotten all about this competition. Only reason I came on here was to work out why every good rugby league player in the country (or so it seemed) was at the Coogee Bay Hotel last night.

I'll give you the tip, I think the players are taking it about as seriously as I am, they were having a thousand schooners (all well-natured though)

I wouldn't be too concerned about the Aus vs PNG game. Everyone knows it will be a massacre. Can't expect people to fork out $55 a ticket to watch that.

The ARL should direct most of their marketing $$$ to promoting the Aust vs Eng match in Melbourne. That needs to be a big one for the game.

I'm confused. How can you be a massive league fan if you don't care about the best teams in the world going at it, with the stars of your club team playing a part?

haha too true.

But the advertising has been shocking, I know up here in QLD a lot of casual fans I know don't know about the 4 Nations, shocking advertising.

I'll watch it, don't get me wrong, but it's hard to care. I have no passion towards the Australian team whatsoever, a win is expected, so it brings me no joy seeing a 50 point massacre.

The most enjoyable game for me will be watching anyone but Australia to be honest, at least it may be a contest.

Australia just don;t have the strike power to beat NZ. Losing players like Thurston, every centre possible and quite a few good forwards will hurt them. NZ should be favourites to win.. I'm going to put a lazy $100 or 2 on them .. the odds are massive.

I've purchased 16 tickets for Aus v Png for my friends and family. Looking forward to a good day out at the footy.

When giving them out, most, if not all of them did not know about this match! I only hope that they are spreading the news via word of mouth out to their friends.

It all comes down to promotion, and for this event... there hasn't been any media effect on the public what so ever. Rugby League representative matches need to be promoted like how horse racing is for their Spring and Autumn Carnivals. In Autumn, we have the ANZAC match and the begginning of the State of Origin and in the Spring we do the Grand Final and the Four Nations.

I'd be surprised if the game vs the Kiwis was a contest actually.

I suppose you haven't watched origin most of the last decade?
