The Opening Ceremony game which features Australia and New Zealand is heading for a larger crowd than expected. As of 8pm today, close to 40 000 tickets have been sold for the game.

If you want to be apart of the fun of the Rugby League World cup then you better get on to the Ticketek website a.s.a.p.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out there.

Get in quick . Especially all those Kiwi fans . I want to see them getting all pumped up for the game. Nothing like being surrounded by Kiwis wearing Green and Gold.

You've run into Karmichael Hunt's family then?

I agree Sydney fans are usually poor when it comes to events like this.

However for Sydney RL fans to prepurchase 40 000 with 5 days to go is fairly amazing. RL fans tend to be lazy and like to just rock up. You may not be able to do that on Sunday night.

Congrats Sydney. Just keep buying them early and make this one close to a sell out.

If we really are at 40k then we have a really good chance at a sellout in my opinion.

Not just because we are so close to the capacity, but the fact that no-one has really heard that the game is nearly sold out by the way of media reporting. This will serve to make sure that the walk up crowd is not deterred from coming along and snapping up whatever tickets remain.
