does anyone know where the information that started this thread came from?

I was wondering the same thing. I tried googling "tickets selling fast for..." but got this thread and articles about Pink.

Hopefully it's not just based on PAX.

There are Category A tickets still available in the Grandstands - most of them near the top... all the Cat A terrace tickets seem to be gone.

I bought Cat B tickets and was in the last bay down the end. So unless the RLWC organisers are holding tickets then I can't explain it. I went into ticketek today to double check and there were not wide open bays. I was only thinking this would attract 25K. Looks like it will be a lot larger.

Get your tickets now . You know what it can be like waiting for tickets t SFS. Especially if it goes close to sell out. Imagine being in the line with 30-40 boozed up Kiwis and they put the FULL HOUSE sign up...

now wouldnt that just be tonnes of fun??? lol

Of course ill be a boozed up aussie...

Its strange that this Sunday night, late kick off, is attracting fans.

I know its the WC, but we have had matches at better times (tri nations final) get worse crowds than this is shaping up for.

While this is all looking good I don't want to get my hopes up - I'm very rarely "pleasantly surprised" by crowd numbers for RL matches...

I'll be pleased if it's in the mid-30s which it looks like the least it will be. Enough for a decent atmosphere, and looks reasonable on the telly.

I have some spare tickets for the Australia v New Zealand game in Bay 36 (Lower level) which I bought for $75 each. I would be prepared to accept face value for them. If anyone is interested, leave a post on this thread or pm me.

Just bought a Cat B Reserve ticket.
I tried to find out how much is left, by the sounds of it not very much at all. Cat B only a few in corners. PAX 40886

Well the best available online is still not giving me the absolute corner bays in any category. So for mine, there is still quite a few tickets available. The way they sold the SFS for this match is very different to any games I've ever seen. They are now selling category C in the members stand and seem to be working backwards from the northwest corner. Maybe more tickets become available when more members say no.

Anyway, with corporate, rebel sport and group tickets also flying around I'm a little sceptical that 40,000 pax means 40,000 will show up. I reckon to be safe, subtract about 5,000 off the pax that we finish up with.

For the record, I reckon we'll end up with a full looking stadium, with unexplained gaps bringing the crowd total in at about 38K.

Well we won't know until Sunday. However we can say that according to PAX figures that we are over 40K. This is rare in our sport. I think anything over 35k for Rugby League is a success.

I tried at ticketek to get decent Cat B or A and they were a lot further away from the action then I thought.

Well done Colin Love.

i think the entire Eastern lower stand is sold. I bought my tix in category b a few days back and got bay 40. Then bay 41 sold. Now Cat B gives you bay nine which is non-camera side.

When i tried for best available last night i got bay 57, again camera side.

Clearly they are trying to sell out specific areas first.

What gives me hope is that we have sold a lot more tickets than normal test matches. With Sydney's walk up mentality we could be heading towards a big crowd.

I think something that may have helped us is the recent semis at the SFS. They brought in good crowds and reminded the sydney folk what a great ground the SFS is. Hopefully this brings a few back.

Selling this event out would definitely shut up some of those doubters. A close competitive match would have them pondering. A win to the Kiwis would ruffle some serious feathers.

Let's show them Sydney..
