Tiger's In RLWC Squad's

At a BBQ today and someone was saying how he was excited about the RLWC and especially the other nations and how good it is that guys are playing for the likes of Italy, Tonga, Samoa etc.

Got me thinking, I hope the Tigers who get picked do not get hurt but I really do hope that the young guys learn from the experience.

Just thought I’d list the players that have been selected so far in either the full squad or train on squad's

FIJI: Marika Koroibete

ITALY: Brendon Santi & James Tedesco

KIWI’s: Adam Blair & Tim Simona - sure I read that Simona is having a shoulder op in the off season though.

SAMOA: Ava Seumanufagai, Sauaso Sue, David Nofoaluma, Masada Iosefa, Tim Simona (in both squad's)

AUST: assume they will take 2 hookers and that would be Robbie but Sheens might go with DCE.

I never begrudge any player getting selected to play for their country but gee I get nervous they could be hurt. I'd hate to see Pat Richard for example breaking his leg in the game of Ireland v's Fiji.

Our luck has to change so lets keep the fingers cross the World Cup doesn't result in any major injuries for the Wests Tigers players (hope I haven't jinxed Richards).

According to the SMH

Tonga's Wests Tigers forward Ben Murdoch-Masila appears to have played his last football for the year after suffering a suspected broken leg in his first hit-up of the night.

There goes his off season....f**k!!!

He'll still get at least 2 months training in.

No need to get too hysterical just yet.

A break is much better then ligament damage, plus we've changed our medical staff. A 6 week injury hopefully won't means 12 week one, then for it to be reoccurring for the next 2 years anymore

A break isnt too bad, as mentioned before it's better then ligament damage. I snapped my tibia when I was 15, 12 weeks in plaster, then another couple of weeks of light duties to get movement back into the ankle & make sure it was right. Depending on how bad the break is he might only be in plaster for six weeks. He'll still have a bit of off season training, not the end of the world.
