In the early 2000's I had no such delusions, but right now I really do believe the window is open for another 3 years or so. The halfback and fullback problem must be resolved this year though, I'll admit that.

That's cool, I'm glad that you have the hope for the seasons ahead. It makes the footy season that much more enjoyable. But it makes the wait for Round 1 seem so much longer also. Good luck for the season ahead, it's not long until Round 1 gets underway. :)

I like how you left out the just my opinion bit.
All things equal, I don't believe the Tigers will win it. Sorry that offends you so badly.
Here you go to help make your sunday a little more relaxing, the Tigers are a chance to win it....just for you.
It doesnt offend me....just found it interesting you were so definite in us not winning, though I do appreciate you accepting it as un-impossible....and now relenting and proffering that we are now a ''chance''
Are you always so limp and lukewarm in your opinions?
FFS!! Stand by your word man!!

tigers for 2012. They are a win now team

bennett will take at least a year, maybe 2 or 3 to turn the knights into genuine contenders

On paper Tigers look a top four side.......Knights will push for the eight.

With that in mind Id be getting on the Tigers big time if it was 8/9 dollars respectively!!

I dont think the Knights can win it,but the Tigers can and have better form!

I said that for you, not for me. I don't think the Tigers will win it, and to make you happy I don't think my team will win it either.

Anything less than a GF Qualifier for the Tigs is quite a disappointment with all the expectation going around. Tigers over the past years have proven they can be genuine title contenders..

Knights, however have still got something to prove. I think they will make the 8, possibly top 4 then get bundled out in week 2 or 3.

Everytime I see your name Thommo4PM, I just think of a post you wrote in 2005 just before the Tigers/Saints Final. You carried on and on about how Saints were going to smash the Tigers and why should Tiges fans even bother turning up. And we know how that turned out......

Yes I know 2005 was a looooong time ago and I shouldnt be living in the past but I cant help it. I think I enjoyed that win even more then the GF because of your post. Your probably an OK guy but thats the problem when you throw stuff out there on the public domain.....Sometimes your just remembered for 1 Thing......

Although I should, I cant be bothered going back to find it......Its Sunday morning and the kids are calling.......

Personally I couldn't bet on the Knights for the premiership yet. If they start the season on fire and it looks like Bennett has got them playing the way he wants, Buderus looks ok, Mullen is shaping up etc then they will still be $5-6 and we will have more confidence about them. But like some people are saying it could be a building year for Newcastle and they'll make their gun run in 2013 and 2014.

Id have to say that while the Knights have a very solid team,to me the tigers have a bit more firepower than the knights.

Especially in the backrow.....re Ellis and Blair, and the tigers 6/3/4.......re Marshall,Ayshford and Lawrence.

Aside from that the teams are fairly even-ish.

Someone has to remind benji how not to choke in finals games before they become a true title contender.

2 years in a row he's cost them by gifting field position to the saints (out on the full) and warriors (running on the last in his own end).

That said they'll finish top 4 so are probably a better bet than the knights

Please, the tigers have no hope since they lost their All Star quality halfback in the offseason....................

Well he didnt choke in 05........... But I have to admit he has made two huge blunders and it has cost us.

In saying that, without Bunji we wouldnt have been there in the first place,so Im very happy he is a tiger.
