Tim Sheens relieved of coaching duties

Strange situation all around, the Tigpies are pretty f**ked

Sheens has had a great career though, that shouldn’t be forgotten
Prior to this year he had coached 4 teams in the nrl, succeeded at 3 and is probably the best ever coach at 2. 4 premierships is nothing to be ashamed of.

Has one of these “succession plans” ever worked. They always sound good on paper but ultimately flop. Despite the results we’ve been okay this season (aside from the 6 weeks where 3/4 of our spine were injured). Let’s see what Benji can do now.
Agree. I think all the board members put blind folds on and threw darts at pieces of paper with ideas on it.

Successful at 3? I'd say successful at one and possibly a pass at another.
44% record at the Chocolate Soldiers (1 finals series in 4 years), 26% at the Cowboys and 47% across his career at the Tigpies.
Even if you include his premiership at Tigers, is 3 finals series in 10 seasons really successful?

I would say a premiership at the Tigers is successful. Balmain hadn’t won since 69 and Wests hadn’t since the 50s. Since he left the club hasn’t sneezed in the direction of another.

He was also the coach to get Penrith competitive. The Cows was the only job he completely ranked at, although the bulk of the teams who were brought in during the SL war either died or took several years to get off to the races.

Canberra Raiders winning those premierships aren't successful? My word he is successful, people talk of robbo at the roosters but even he has had a disappointing seasons, Tim Sheens might be from a bygone era, but he is still a successful coach

That was successful by our standards at the time. He had us playing decent footy for the most part from memory. A better run on the injury front and the results would have been a bit better.

You'll note I left Canberra out of that list. And quite frankly you could have coached that Raiders side to premierships.

But I didnt, and he did....
Craig bellamy with his big 4 players, probably could have won with a different coach...
Trent Robinson and his Sydney "ROSTERS" and thats a proven statement as ricky stuart won in 2002 with the Rosters... and absolutely nobody rates him

In the end Tim Sheens did win those canberra premierships, and wests tigers only one regardless of what or why you think they should be omitted
