The "Jamie Lyon speaks" exclusive is in today's Big League.

Few quotes-

"Lyon says he understood the Eels' "hard ball" attitude after walking out on an three year contract and has no personal gripe against Brian Smith. He would not say it publicly but intimated that the Eels set up had become too intense for him and a club with a more laid-back style would suit him better"

"Lyon understand that Eels fans see him as a traitor and apologieses for letting them down. .......he could not return to the club because the relationship had become too strained after hearing of comments from players and officilas that he could "rot in hell" and "is not welcomed back here", even though he initially thought he could have one year back in the bush then rejoin the Eels"

Yet another complete and utter load of bullshit from Jamie.....I, as I am sure many other Parra fans, have kept a very close eye on the whole Jamie Lyon saga and not once have I heard any quotes from any Parra players/officials give it to him like that....AND I have absolutely no doubts that it would have been headline news had it happened.

This is just anothe load of crap from Lyon in a vain attempt to save some face and make an excuse why he wouldn't come back....thats right Jamie - keep the crap coming - blame everyone else but yourself.

If he really wants to hear some "rot in hell" type comments he should come on here and have a read.....no one has the slightest bit respect for you and your actions Jamie - and its ALL YOUR OWN FAULT!

While I don't disagree with what you have said Strider it wouldn't surprise me if some of the players did say that to him at the meeting he had with them. Wouldn't blame them one bit if they did, in fact I hope they did, he deserved to be told a lot worse after what he did.

I wouldn't put it past any of the boys to have had a go at him after walking out, but I think it would have come well into the piece and well after he had decided he wasn't coming back to the Eels anyway. I think the players would have been ok with him having a year off and coming back if that had been his intentions from the start.

Yeah.......the club atmosphere is not really the place for such comments, and the army camp style of disipline would not tollerate it

However I'm sure a lot of the guys would like to say something out on the field, if he was wearing a different coloured jersey

I'm sure the players reacted like most of the fans did....initially there was alot of sympathy & support but then once the lies & motives started to surface there was plenty of resentment.

Lyon has heart set on Manly

2/9/2004 By Adam Lucius - The Manly Daily

ENGLAND-BOUND centre Jamie Lyon has revealed his desire to join Manly and has not ruled out moving to Brookvale when his contract with St Helens is over.

Lyon, who will resume his career in the UK after walking out on Parramatta at the start of the year, was keen to join the Sea Eagles but was not granted a release by the Eels.

Parramatta believe Manly recruitment officer Noel deal, a former Eels employee, enticed Lyon away from the club and refused to allow Manly to negotiate with the most sought-after back in the game.

On the eve of departing for St Helens to start a two-year stint, Lyon admitted the Sea Eagles were his first club of choice in Australia.

"I admit I'd love to play for Manly," he told Big League magazine.

"I think they have got a good set-up, a bit more laidback (than Parramatta).

Is that what you call a team who has gotten flogged more times than they have won?

"I know (assistant coach) Dennis Moore who was at Parramatta, I have a couple of mates there. Kane (deal) is there as well.

"But we'll just have to see what happens.

"First off I have to adjust to playing in England and make sure I do my best there."

Lyon will travel to England with Noel Cleal's son Gareth but denies the former Manly second rower lured him away from Parramata.

"Crusher never told me to leave Parra, it was all my decision," he said.

"He has done what any mate would do, stuck by me and given me options on what I could do then left the decisions up to me.

"It's pretty sad that the whole thing has caused a war between Parramatta and Manly."

I don't really believe he is capable of feeling remorse.

Manly executive director Paul Cummings said Lyon has a genuine desire to play at Manly.

"He has told plenty of people he wants to play with Manly and from our point of view we'd love to see him here in 2007," Cummings said.

"We'd be only too happy to welcome him to our club.

"He'll only be 24 by then and will have another good four to five years ahead of him."

That is disgusting.

So in other words, he'll treat our club like dirt and in then end get exactly what he wants.

Jamie - you're scum.

well in my opinion he can rot in hell and I think letting the pig loose would be a top idea and I am sure we would all be there to help do it

And? You're still behind us, and your crapppy team couldn't even put more than 12 points past us last time we met.

I stated that we are 2 points behind your team. Tell me where I said we haven't been flogged?

Can I just ask - you being a Manly fan, Lyon being a disgraceful turd (albeit an exceptionally talented one) - are you PROUD of the way your club has handled things?

Are you PROUD that Cleal has stucken his bearded chin where it doesn't belong and screwed things up?

I'm guessing yes, seeing as that eventually you Manly fans will all get what you want, and that's Lyon.

Given that noone else will go to Manly, I'd bet they'd be happy to wait two years to get anyone.

If we believe what was said, Kennedy and Kite were the first big signings of many....but what happened to the rest???

We know that wanted Tahu, but who got him? :D

How could you possibly laugh at Manly players for having no heart or soul. On paper you have a much better team than us and would of spent about $500, 000 more on players this season and still only 2 points ahead on the table.
