Scrap the 8

The top teams shouldnt have to risk injuries in the early weeks of the finals against sides that dont deserve to be there

so your saying becuase the dragons finished 6th they 99 shouldn't hav been

if the dogs make the 8 they'll make it 2 the end of sept

well at least this year every team which makes the 8 will have won more games than lost, unlike other years. i like having 8 teams, because the closeness of the comp means team 1-8 are good enough if they turn up on the day, it makes for a lot of top class footy. but at the same time it is annoying to see a team lose more games than they win make the playoffs.
if you have a look at u.s. sports its pretty much the same, in the NHL they have 16 teams in their playoffs out of 30. nbl and nfl also have about 50% making the cut.
