It's a big risk to sell your club to someone for an indeterminate amount.

who'd do that anyway?

What's hilarious to me, you're a troll but your so damn bad at it. In your delusional head selling to Crowe was somehow a bad move when it's almost universally accepted that it has been the right decision, that he and HaC have done a good managing the club. Off the field it has grown in every way possible, from crowds to members to sponsorships to turnover, less debt, profit. The list goes on.

I noticed an article in the paper urging to the Knights to accept the privatisation offer, and it used Souths as an example of the success and stability that can come with privatisation. We are a pioneer, I think in the long term a lot of clubs will go private and in part it'll be because of the good results we have got from it.

yes.. a 6,000 post troll...

not saying it's a bad move.. i'm saying that:

a) you guys are crap
b) said crapness led to a dirt cheap selling price (see my hyundai excel example i gave ziggy)

Off the field it has grown in every way possible, from crowds to members to sponsorships to turnover, less debt, profit. The list goes on.
...

I think in the long term a lot of clubs will go private and in part it'll be because of the good results we have got from it.

what results?

every other team has been through a more successful period on the field, making the finals and being a genuine premiership threat..

souffs end up being a place that good players go to end their careers, whilst wearing armarni suits..

all this talk of "results" and what is the re to show for it? hell, even the "best pack in the world" couldn't get you guys past manly..

bunniesman, you'll learn once you get out into the real world that results are tangible.. success against goals set out.. considering that every year your fans tout how you will win the premiership, but yet you fail to even make the finals..

if souths were one of my employees, i'd have given them their marching orders years ago for failing to do their job..

how are you going to go as a policeman? "sorry sarge, i didn't get the crook, but i managed to chase him most of the way.."

He'll guarantee the club receives a minimum of $10 mill per year in sponsorship revenue. It currently receives around $7 mill. Tinkler needs only tip $3 mill a year at the moment.

That's why I said without sponsors...

But who thinks that he will tip in only just enough every year?

He will want the club successful and do his best to ensure that whether it means 5mill on top of sponsors or $2.

Newcastle should just hurry up and take the 100m. No way are they worth 33 times more than the greatest club, so stop the carry on and Take Maney, the f do!

Got ya. Wasn't sure what you meant by without sponsors. You're right. The proposal states a MINIMUM of $10 mill a year. He may inject more or he may attract other sponsors to jump on board.

1. I swear this idiot isnt me
2. Tinkler won't be contributing 100m, Crowe didn't contribute 3m, both real figures are somewhere inbetween those two numbers.

Or maybe since Crowe has brought a club, the price of other teams has raised since then and the worh of money is less now.

Who cares anyway?

This is great for Rugby League all round not just the Knights.

Just the same as Crowe is for the Rabbitohs, great for Rugby League all round not just the rabbits.

Newcastle should accept the offer. How many NRL clubs would make $10m a year in sponsors revenue, let alone be guaranteed it for 10 years? The deal would basically ensure the Knights pressence in Newcastle for 10 years, and turn them back into a force.

If the Knights can stand alone they should, selling the club should be a dead dead last option.. Better they struggle imo then sell, the club should belong and be accountable to the people not be private. If Tinker is doing it for the community as reported in the paper today he should just tip in the cash and not try and own it!

Here's hoping the Knight's accept the deal...but for some reason I'm not holding my breath, I can see some of the member's derailing it #-o

Yeah, especially considering you need 75%. Most people seem to be supporting the deal but you never know if you can get 3 in 4 of the people that choose to show up. I know with souths it only passed barely by just a handful of votes.

If he loves the club he should put his hand up for ceo and sponsor the team instead of trying to own it.
Why should he. He's been doing that for years. Why should he give his money but with no real power on how it's spent. Just like Crowe and the pre 2006 days.
