Hate the double movement rule, load of shit. You get there any way you can for me

It is what it is.

That was a great play by Capewell followed by a massive f**k up.

Instead of giving them the ball 1m out, he gives the penalty & they get it 30m out.

They kick a field goal 1 set later as we struugle forr field position then on.

Townsend just needs 80 minutes of consistency. Can’t really blame the goalkicking on him, they were tough ones.
His biggest problem is his decision making. Keeping cool under pressure. When he booted that ball over the line when he had time to find the grass behind the defensive line in broken play is a big example. Didn’t play what was in front of him like a good halfback should or indeed footballer. There were a couple of other moments but you can’t bag the guy too much. He had a super dig. His good kicks in play were really good and knocked over 2 field goals with aplomb.
He just needs to back himself more and grow in confidence more. He was the best half on the field tonight and also last week so deserves credit.

I dont see him lacking confidence. Made a great tackle in the first half sprinting off the line to make a great tackle and killing the Titans set on the fifth tackle,

At the end of the day we got the chocolates.
Not a great game to dissect Townsend’s own game for a few reasons.....
From what I saw, Moylan was no real support and needs to be more assertive to help his other half and to free him up.
Conditions were tricky, greasy and both teams dropped a bit of ball.
Lastly, I actually think our halves played (and won) behind a beaten pack...regardless of what stats will say. They had quicker play the balls and their big blokes poked their nose through more than ours did. Titans made a couple more crucial errors and lacked a bit of polish.
In saying all that, and with 3 of your best and most experienced backrowers out it was a pretty bloody good effort. Defended they’re backsides off.

Chad is a manufactured halfback. He should have been made a hooker before he left for New Zealand like the plan was.
The resigning of Robson and some other issue stopped that and next minute he was at the warriors

He would be have great out of dummy half.
Too slow for a hooker and defense is questionable.

Obviously haven’t watched the past few weeks.

Didn’t realise that cam smith was lightning quick.

And FYI, that was 5-6 years ago. At the time it would have worked perfectly

Fair point about smith, he’s not super quick.

Those stats show the long kicking game seems to have been a big point of difference.

Townsend definitely had the biggest influence on the game. As he has done a number of times this year. It is not all about try assists (though some more would be nice).
Mate, um, they scored 1 point in the 2nd half. It's all about try assists for halves and they aren't doing it. Maloney couldn't help them last year and now Molyan can't atm. Chad has been inside them,Coincidence?
The last 30 mins was all about players running out of dummy half because no player was directing them up the park.
It's boring, it's shit to watch and being unconvincing as that against a shit team won't win a premiership

We are winning because of Chad. But we are playing an ugly brand of footy that frustrates us all. I'd rather be winning than losing, but I just wish he'd straighten things up. We have some backs who can do some real damage given some space and time, but they just don't see enough quality ball. On the positive side, Soro and Cedric are both proving far more capable than I ever thought they could be. Soro is a beast. Cedric seems to have replaced some of his cock fingers with actual fingers and is making good yards getting us out of our own end. Good shit.

Shit game, but in addition to getting the win, some real positves for me:
Soro has added some much needed pace into our pack - carries the ball into collision at speed, very impressed so far!
Lee was good again - making himself difficult to take down out of yardage.
How good was it to have Boogs back out there too - he looked fresh as a daisy and rapid!
And finally big raps for Matty Prior for dragging himself out of hospital to play too - outstanding effort.

I guess they won but wow as always its like a boring nail biter. Not much has changed since the days of Ricky - go the grind.
Agree with the Chad negative but to be fair he aint getting much help. His reaction at the end appeared to be pure relief more than anything.
