I guess the NRL statement about local ownership rules out the Bears take over then? With the shed load more cash clubs are getting from next year surely it wouldn't take much investment? Just some good business people who can market the club properly and re-engage with those 20k fans who went in year one.

I thought NS Bears owned the Burleigh Bears, that'd make them local then

Norths group own the Seagulls club in West Tweed. Whether that's classified as local, who knows?
Also not sure if the Bears NRL bid is funded by Norths group? I'm sure someone on here would have an idea??

Back to the Titans, anyone in that area know if there are any local businessmen interested? Any local leagues clubs rich enough to buy in?

Norths via Tweed Heads is surely rich enough , no reason not to consider them local. I would've thought a much more stable option than a private buyer too.

I honestly couldn't say , still I would presume it a safer option than a businessman who may get bored with the the venture. I note that 700k figure is after community support though. They seem a pretty stable club financially.

It will obviously depend on the leagues clubs willingness to get involved. The earlier musings may have simply been Greg Florimo being hopeful.

Marwan Koukash, the Palestinian-British racehorse owner, will buy the Titans. He is keen on migrating his family to Australia and the multi-million dollar investment in the Titans will qualify him and his family for permanent residence. He is reportedly tired of taking his summer beach holidays at Blackpool, on the recommendation of Leon Pryce, and wants some real swimming and surfing beaches at his disposal..

According to reports from Ramallah and confirmed by Salford social media, Marwan plans to use the Titans' reserve feeder team in part as a training vehicle for Palestinian players from the West Bank and Gaza, who are to be invited to Australia on sports work visas. His aim is to have the nucleus of a Palestinian team to first challenge Lebanon, and then later to enable Palestine be eligible for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in Britain and France.

Link??

Koukash has previously said he was only interested in the Tits if they were moved to Brisbane.

Its an interesting idea with the Palestinian players though...
